This is near perfect! The only change I would make is have Krin draw it! I remember his earlier drawings from years ago!

^ i want to see this one as well XD

Giraffe babies!! I really like this new change, though with them now being giraffe based, the flowery vines don't fit the vibe. Idk if that's just me but yeah :)

Slinkies are cool and all,

But have we also considered:

Or even

If you're feeling :sparkles: extra spicy :sparkles:

I support these options! But they're all amazing, so why just choose one? Allow me to propose a new mutation slot for the various neck options \o/

(EDIT: If this is an April Fool's joke, way to go, as it is actually quite convincing as a real update! If it is not a joke though, I do have some input to give on the redesign.)

Oof...I definitely have some mixed feelings about this one.

First off, I will begin by saying that I appreciate the staff's desire to release a redesign that the community overall enjoys. There will most likely never be 100% acceptance of any particular design, but making most players happy with the new Faelora is an admirable goal.

...That being said, I'm not so sure that scrapping the Faelora's deer-inspired design in favor of a giraffe-like one was the best choice. I was very excited to see what updates had been made to the redesign this morning, but upon seeing the new proposed outlines, my first reaction was to immediately minimize the Internet window in shock. I was honestly quite unsettled by their appearance.

I truly don't mean to hurt any of the artists' feelings here. You do such beautiful work, and the new Faelora are not bad drawings, per se... just, these new proportions just don't seem quite right on them.

I also don't think it's the most fair decision to take what has been a deer-like creature, and suddenly strip that away from its identity. Players may have even built breeding projects or named their Faelora based on its role as the deer of the Sylestian universe. It is a very beautiful design concept too--a deer combined with botanical elements, like a leafy tail and "tree branch" antlers.

I am not opposed to there being a giraffe-like Sylesti, but I don't think Faelora should be it. I would rather have the Faelora in my collection remain the way they are now, than have them transform into the new design proposed today.

It is worth noting, however, that there is also the possibility of finding a middle ground here. There is an extinct animal called the Sivatherium, which looks somewhere between a deer and a giraffe, and it might serve as a great basis for how the Faelora could adopt some giraffe traits, while also retaining some deer characteristics too.

I would recommend keeping the Faelora's leafy ruff around the neck, body vines, and its ability to have antlers, as these are all part of its current identity and traits. But, it can also be given a longer neck/legs, perhaps a longer more giraffe-like tail with a leaf at the tip, and the ability to have other sorts of headgear besides antlers.

This is what I think could be the answer to pleasing both main sides to the debate-- those who want to keep the deerlike Faelora, and those who would like to see a more radical redesign.

I do thank the staff artists for their consideration of our feelings on the matter, and again, I don't mean any offense to their art or efforts. I am just trying to offer my honest thoughts and a possible solution.

I think the necks could stand to be longer; right now they're looking a little short. Thanks for keeping us updated on the revamp! I appreciate your hard work!

I know it's most likely a joke, but I did do a quick edit of the male hatchie base for a (maybe?) better looking proportion idea
Hopefully the image loads lol
