Something blue stuck out of the dust and scraping noises were heard as if something was digging. It was smokey and smelled like burning wreakage. Shell coughed and continued digging muttering loud enough for the entire forest to seemingly hear in the quiet. "Stupid....stashing.....about to.....where....on the.....there!" The digging stoppedd.

Curiosity piqued and mind slightly at ease, Knuckles trotted up. "Are you ok Shell? Whatcha got there?"

Shell craned her neck, swiveled her head, and pressed an azure ear to the surface of an over sized egg that was coated in black,white, and blue-purple splotches. "It... hmm..... hard to tell...." Shell's tail curled around her rear talons as the surface beneath the egg-thing glowed blue-purple and a flurry of movement from under the thin shell made Shell's eyes close in concentration. "It...survived the crash...hmm...oh! Grr... those camel eyed globs of frog spit gopher headed weasels." Shell set the egg-thing down. "It's a dragon egg, or to say a stolen one."

"And suddenly Dragons don't seem so rare," Knuckles commented, examining the egg up and down. "This is gonna sound weird, but you sure it's a dragon egg? Can't exactly say I trust anything that came from those guys. I just don't want anything to blow up in our faces again,"

Shell snorted. "Okay. Hello? Little dragonet are you a ticking bomb? An explosive? A projectile missile that could blast us to Mars?" She tapped a claw lightly on the surface. The surface of the egg glowed and more movement shook the egg. The silhouette of something dragonlike inside the egg occasionally showed up through the thin surface.

Knuckles let out a "humph", unamused by Shell's sarcasm. Yet he took a few steps closer despite his suspicions.

The egg seemed to have a mind of it's own, shaking and rocking. Suddenly a crack went down the middle after a violent shake. A tiny black-purple-blue snout peeked itself out. "Now do you think it's a bomb or an explosive?" Shell said.

Kncukles didn't answer the question, but now seemed concerned. "They'll be back for her," he said quietly.

Shell's face twisted as if an actual emotion and not a sarcastic one was trying to come through. Worry and fear. She stared right into the little dragonet's purple eyes. "We can't let them have her, who knows what they might do to her."

Knuckles nodded. "I'll see what I can do to track 'em down. You stay with her. Those bounty hunters won't know what hit them," He left without another word.
