You start heading downstream. Soon, you spot the end of the valley.
I keep heading out of the valley, hoping that there's some fresh water on the other side.

There only seem to be quite a few sturdy trees, you and your pet could probably sleep on them. It would be best if you were on seperate trees however, just to make it safer for both of you.
You look around and happen to see a few of these trees quite close together. They looked quite easy to climb, and stay in.

You slowly realise that the sky is already darkening. Seems like maybe the nights are longer? There are a few spots where you could spend the night. You could each climb a sturdy tree, and spend the night there, or maybe, just on the ground.
It did seem like the trees were an easier option, as you had more safety there, as long as you each took a different one.

You cautiously, yet quickly enter the forest. The hot sunlight still reaches you, however it is slightly better, under the branches. You quietly navigate your way through the forest, until you suddenly hear a rustle. You and your pet both stop, then hear it again.
Definitely wasn't you or your pet. Investigate?

For some reason, when they do you float in the 'water', and they can somehow breathe in there. When they come back out, they are completely fine. Not wet at all, no sign of red.
Would you try to enter the river, or at least touch it?

After you are safely in your spot, you try to fall asleep, however you hear a rustle, and out of your extremely wide peripheral vision, you see a Vorkid on the ground. Your pet doesn't notice it and is still kind of trying to get in a comfortable position.
The Vorkid soon notices something might be in the trees due to the rustling.

Your hand goes right through it and you just feel air. Maybe the river could just be an illusion? You and your pet both seem unaffected. Maybe you could try get into the river like your pet and see what would happen?
