It literally slices through the sand grains themselves it as easily as butter. Despite being buried in the sand for what was probably a pretty long time, it's still shiny and sharp.

It's pretty full of handholds, so you make it partially up before you realize it's leaning outwards.

I curse myself silently for not noticing before. I awkwardly use one hand to get the guidebook out. "What is the chance of me dying if I jump off from where I am now?"

It's easier to climb down than it is to climb up. You turn towards the ocean, trying to see if there are any other landings and suddenly you can't see the cliffs in your peripheral vision.
