"Hey, You can throw yourself back into the river if you want," Knuckles retorted.

"I might as well! And just so you know I'm not her real father! I stole her egg under Robotnic's orders!" He retorted back, shadowing right next to the river.

"Under who's orders?! Since when do giant fire breathing dinosuars take orders from humans?!" The echidna shouted as if he'd never been deceived himself. "What can he do to you?!"

The drake looked offended. "Dinosaur!? Who you calling dinosaur. I'm the last of the shadow dragons, to answer your question, and it's because of humans, dragons fear them.Except for back in the old days they had no weapons. Then they make arrows and guns! Now its robotizing machines and high tech weapons! Let's not forget Robotnic killed most of the dragons!" He hissed as if Knux was an ignorant child.

"So you're saying you didn't have a choice then?!" Knuckles growled.

The drake nodded sadly and turned back towards the river. "I should go back into hiding I'm already on Egg's bad side..." with that the drake flew off circling the island then heading north.

Knuckles just stood there for a while and slid to the ground with a sigh.

Shell just laid there. Weak, injured, dying in the river. The effects wore off. She felt more sluggish than a sea slug. She had been awake for only 5 minuets. She sighed spreading her dark colored wings and staggered out of the river shaking herself like a dog.

Three days straight of this. It was beginning to feel ridiculous. But none the less... Knux stood up. Better go check on Shell.

Shell half tripped half sprinted as she ran towards the forest. She snapped at a squirrel and sniffed at the ground, hoping for some food of some sort.
