The fur on the back of his neck bristled. Dead or half drowned... the words seemed to echo. With a groan of disgust, he decided to search the island for the black drake.

Its easy right? To swim? Who knew I had to kill them both. The drake thought as he flailed in the water shooting jets of white hot fire into the forest. He struggled then gave up sinking like a rock, as he did this he contemplated on his sins. First I'm robbing eggs, then I'm killing my own mate, and now I tried to kill my own daughter... I probably deserve to die undignified like the pitiful coward I am.

Smoke. The scent was unmistakable. With a growl, Knuckles followed it to another river, rapid and choppy. Nothing had caught on fire, but... "No, He's close," Then clarity struck him and he yelled. "IF YOU CAN HEAR ME, LISTEN UP! PUSH OF THE BOTTOM, IT'S NOT THAT DEEP AND WHATEVER YOU DO KEEP YOUR HEAD ABOVE WATER!"

With a jolt the drake opened his eyes. He was dying right? Was the Reaper teaching him to swim? He shook his head and pushed weakly of the bottom but managed to keep his dark snout above water long enough to turn into a shadow and appear next to a shady tree.

Knuckles huffed. "Well, for the father of a sea dragon you sure are a bad swimmer. You're ok though?" He asked from a few feet away.

The drakes eyes seemed to dialate. "Work things out. That's why I didn't just drown? Great plan." He guffawed and thought out loud. "Might as well ask her to turn into a fish and eat herself." (strange humor 101)
