Harren offered you a nervous smile. "Your bag is right under the bed. I didn't want someone lurking about to snatch it. We, uh, we have a bit of violence in this town. That's part of the reason why I brought you to my sister's inn. It's better to be safe than sorry with everything stolen from you," he laughed, but it was strained.
(Now you're in dialogue mode, which is where I don't give you options until the conversation is coming to a close, or you ask for options again to end the conversation)
Ylsonaa reached under the bed, keeping her head lifted and her eyes on Harren, trusting her hands to find her belongings. She found the bag, and pulled it up, laying it on the bed next to her and keeping her free hand on it. Ylsonaa stares at Harren again, expressionless. Violence? She inquired, saying nothing more and keeping her gaze on the boy.
(Sorry for not using quotations either, they dont work. I use italics for thoughts and bold for speaking. Hope thats ok :))

(That's fine :).)
"Yeah, violence," Harren sighed and crossed over to the window, which you now realize has a large crack in it, as if it had been hit with a large rock. "Gangs and stuff. Ilrin used to be a pretty good town, y'know? But then people started leaving and those of us left got hit by economical crisis, no merchants stopping by." He shrugged. "Not much we can do about it, I guess."

It was so hard for Arokara to see exactly what was in the tree, but the broad, distinct grin was a little unnerving. She could feel her hands itching to reach for her weapon, but she didn't dare make herself appear threatening before she was able to properly see who or what was perched in the tree. When the thing spoke, she relaxed, but only marginally.
"Oh," she said, surprised and even more curious about what manner of creature this was, "Well, you have my thabks then. I'm afraid I did not embark on this journey in the best state of mind...or attire for that matter." She glanced down at her dress, which was tattered and stained at this point, and grimaced at how impractical it was for traveling.

The clicking continued, growing a bit more pronounced now, as if in excitement. The creature began to bounce a little in the tree, shaking the branches it was perched on.
"I like your tire. I protect your tire. I protect you and you sleep and you do not get up until you do get up and I protect still."
Ylsonaa said nothing and seemed to zone out for a moment. She snapped back to reality a while after Harren finished speaking. Is there anything an Orcish mercenary can do to help? She recognized the name Ilrin, but didnt know much about it. Shed heard of mild violence in many places, more recent of late, and couldnt remember exactly what she had been doing that had led her here. She thought she may as well stay here and try to figure out what she was doing and in the process help this town. She grunted in amusement. In over your head much? She thought, You cant fend off more than a small gang of bandits by yourself, Ylsonaa! She scolded herself silently, but looked at Harren for an answer anyway.

Harren shrugged and reached down to pull your bag out from under the bed and place it on top, where you could access it easily. "A mercenary? I'm sure you could fight some of the gangs off, but that won't bring in merchants, or buyers for that matter. More gangs will just spring up in their place. We've no governor here, you know."

You attempt to reach the keys with your weapon, but your weapon is far too short to reach them.
What do you wish to do now?
a) Say something else
b) Go to the window
c) Try to break the bars with your hands
d) Try to break the bars with your weapon
e) Go back to the bed
f) Other

You go to the window and look outside of it. The bars on the window are thick, and for all your strength, you're pretty sure you'd be unable to wrench them apart. Outside of the window, though, you see that you're in a swampy-like area. It's wet outside, and you can feel the humidity within the room.
What do you wish to do?
a) Say something/Call out
b) Try to open the window bars
c) Hit the window bars with your weapon
d) Go to the locked door
e) Lay back down in bed
f) Other
