Ebony sat on the armchair in the library.She was in the house left by her's and Ivory's father.Apparently he had been someone important and when he died he had left it for them.With their mother in prison and their father dead the twins had been looked after in an orphanage until they were twelve.Now they had this place.She chose a book from the shelves.The art of magic,was the title.She peered inside.On the page she had opened to was a spell to summon fire.She wondered if she would be able to use magic.Their mother could so she read out the spell.Nothing happened.She tried again and this time,a small black flame sparked to life in her hand.She willed for it to grow and slowly the spark became a full on fire.In her hand!But the burst of excitement made the flame dull again and disappear into nothing.She turned to the front.There were a set of rules for a spell to work.Your emotions must be neutral,one read.She tried again but nothing happened.She went to tell Ivory.
