I clicked my black, feathers ruffled, and gave a threatening hiss. I readjusted on Lynn's shoulder. Above my heart shaped mask, there was a barely visible, could be considered crescent shaped Mark.

Lynn stroked Aislinn's feathers, glad for her sister's comfort. "Thank you," she whispered, lightly brushing two fingers against the beautiful white wings of the owl.
She didn't follow the others inside, but crouched beside Kai, shaking him. "Wake up! What did you do?" She glared at the girl. "If he's dead or injured, you and your family will wake up with slit throat-" she stopped herself, and cleared her throat.
Snapping her fingers, she pointed at Kai. "Fix him. Now. Or there shall be terrible consequences."
