It would unwise to continue on at night so I choose to
A.) Take the risk and rest even though we may be ambushed, it will replenish our energy.

Ill just add a little to your story:
I turned around and dug the pointy crystal out of the tree, but it wasn't just a crystal, it was a black egg, I put it in my backpack and continued with zamie

I don't suppose they could take turns keeping watch?
I'll choose to continue with the adventure. They can sleep during the day when all the scary stuff won't be as scary XD
