You can get essences from buying in the diamond shop or from the trade broker. (can be expensive)
You can also find essences from nurturing, exploration/battling, and mission satchels. The drop rates are quite rare though. =P

and weapons as in equipment for pets? or weapon items for avatar?

Pet equipments can be found from battling/exploring, or from mission satchels. You can also buy some from other players on the trade broker.

Avatar items can be bought from the diamond shop, trade broker, town shops, found through exploration/battling, and bosses. During festivals there is a festival shop where avatar items can be bought from.

"Level 60 pets do still gain experience but they will not level until the level cap is removed. Once it is removed, experience will mean something again but it is kind of just there for now with Level 60s."

1) As of now, there are only 3 regions. Viridian Meadows, Umbra Forest, and Astryl's Vale. From what I know, the admins are currently working on improving current features on the site, before working on and releasing more of the storyline and exploration area.

2) Some pets are "fabled" pets, and cannot be obtained easily. Fabled pets have a longer recovery period of 7 days (instead of the usual 3), and their eggs are unique. They also start off with a higher stat base.

The fabled pets Aeridini, Lighira, Ryori, Griffi can only be found during the Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter festivals respectively. So during the festival, there will be a festival zone, and these pets can be found and caught in the festival zone of their respective fest.

The other fabled pets are Nephinis and Ny'venes. Nephinis can be found throughout the 3rd region and in all festival zones, but are very rare. Ny'vene hatchlings can only be bought using arena marks (obtained by fighting in the arena) and egglings can be bought for gold (though relatively expensive).

Another species of pet that are not fabled but cannot be caught in the wild is Puffadore. They can only be bought in the 3rd region.

I took a quick look at your party pets. I think you should take a look at this guide on how to equip and assign points to party pets here: https://www.sylestia.com/forums/?thread=11101

You should really put some equipment on your pets. This would make them a lot more efficient in fighting.

In summary, always choose between intelligence OR strength. The two have no use together. So if you add points to strength, don't add any points to intelligence. Equipment should match the points you add. So if you add points to strength, find equipment that adds more points to strength instead of those that add more to intelligence, or spoilt points equally. Likewise, choose a proficiency tree that adds to the same stat you choose to increase. So choose a strength proficiency tree if you;re adding strength.

Another thing you can do if you still find it hard even after adding equipment is to send your pets on missions to increase their levels to a few levels higher than the zone you want to clear.

I'll recommend reading the guide, and try to reassign points/equipment to your pets. If you have any difficulty with the guide, you can always ask me here or ask Flute in her guide. =)
