The serpent lunges for the monster, curling tightly around its upper body. They move deeper into the water with the monster desperately trying to get the serpent off, but the smooth reptile is on too tight and putting too many punctures in the monster with its huge fangs. Soon, they fall underwater and the serpent slithers back through the water towards you, blood tinging the water red behind it.

Following along the water for about an hour, you eventually spot a little village on the other side with many little boats tied up at the shore. You feel relief at finding a village, but how are you to cross? If you swim, you'll be soaked with your backpack and could lose what's inside.

Reading for an hour or so, you finally realize it's quite late and you should get some sleep for work tomorrow but the book is just so good!

After the eaglet finished eating, it had one last drink of water and then walked back to you. It seems to know you're taking care of it now! It crawls into your backpack, probably because it's cozy and warm, and Ripple scrambles onto your shoulder. With your pets happy, you head along your path once again. After traveling for a while, you see a couple people riding horses on the same trail as you, and they're walking towards you, heading in the opposite direction. They look to be friendly, but you can never know...
