Hi! I joined yesterday, and I have a question that I haven't been able to find the answer to. I've gotten up to rescuing the faeries--so Jinxie helped me catch my second Sylvesti. Since then, I've tried to catch several other ones and have failed each time (using the traps found in Esior's Haven). Is there a trick to catching them, or do I just have bad luck? In some other games I play (cough Pokemon cough) you have more luck catching something if you lower its HP--is there a similar trick here, or do I just have to get better traps?

You can get a little bit of benefit from beating the pet down a little as long as you are very careful not to kill it, but it is relatively minute. Using stronger traps such as a standard snare, which you will be able to buy later in the storyline when you move to the next city, for an uncommon pet can also be beneficial but catching pets is always a matter of luck. Unless you use a masterful snare trap which can be purchased in the diamond shop for 500 diamonds, fleeing is always a very real, very tragic possibility.

hi I wondered what is the highest level a pet can have?
because I can't level up my pet more than level 60 but there is a website that tells pets can go to level 250.

At the moment, it's capped at 60.

Because not all of the content (ie the other zones beyond the 3rd zone) is released. Once it's released (when the admins design the maps and feel that its okay to raise the cap again), then the cap will, in increments, be raised, to 75, maybe 100, then successively to 250.

Though, the current system still may be in the works, if the admins feel like it should be changed.

Lesser pet traps can only catch common ans uncommon sylesties. They don't always work. To use one, you have to buy one and then during battle, you can click on the satchel. The trap should be in there. Click on the trap, then while you still have the pop up whit box, click your enemy and finish the turn.
