As you move closer, you don't find the light source, but one side of the cavern seems to be just... brighter. Unfortunately, there's a wall at that end as well.

Either you're very not observant, or the leather-bound journal sitting a few feet away from the light wasn't there before.

As you pick up the journal, part of the cover breaks off and falls to the floor. It's obvious that this journal is very old, plus some of the edges are charred.
