"Right, ok, I-...Imma go...to...sl...eep...n..o....w." Shell curled up and immeadiatly fell asleep.

Knuckles glanced at her, sighed, shook his head, and curled up himself. "What is normal, anyway?" He murmured, closing his eyes.

(Fast forward to next morning |>>)

Shell yawned and stretched her wings trembling. Her stomach rumbled. She sighed. Probably nothing to eat here unless I go vegan....

Knuckles moaned and rolled over. He opened one eye, then the other. Sitting up straight, he looked at Shell. "Mornin'," he said casually.

"Morning... hey is there anything on this island other than us that's a living breathing animal?"
Shell hoped she didn't have to go vegan.

"Birds (like the one you stepped on and others), Snakes, Lizards, Insects, Chao... the list goes on,"

"Riiiiight." Shell sniffed. I'll go fishing then, ew. Shell spun around her lapis colored scales glinted in the sun rise. She bounded of in the direction of the ocean and disappeared over the edge.

Knuckles shook his head. "Good thing I didn't mention the squirrels," he muttered as he kept watch.

Shell swam around happily, she managed to catch a few herring and that was about it. She shot out of the water and circle the island twice before landing in a clearing scaring a bunch of squirrels of.

This was life itself; alone except for the various wildlife, just him on an island in the sky with nothing better to do. Angel Island had fixed up nicely since the forest fire a couple years back, and the undecerning eye wouldn't be able to tell. In fact, the only proof that Eggman (The main cause of that fire) was there at all was Lunch Base Zone on the other side of the island. Sighing, Knuckles surveyed the area. Nothing to report, all was well.
