Unfortunately, I can't tell you what the book is. I've been trying to find it with no luck. It was a YA novel about a bushranger who had a talking cat for a sidekick. The bushranger spelled his name "Midnite," and when somebody asked why, the answer was, "Because there is nothing romantic about correct spelling."

The book also contained a scene in which the bushranger and the cat got drunk. At one point, the cat threatened the bushranger: "I might cut you up into little pieces and mail you in a brown paper parcel to a false address." I love that line! But I can't remember the book's title or author!

what is a hidden trait? is it where you have two traits in the same slot?! (is that even possible?)

A hidden trait will be in the same slot, but can only be discovered by breeding or genetically testing your pet and looking it up in the advance search. A hidden trait will make the visible trait purple when you look it up^^ if its blue then there isn't a hidden trait

For example, that Forest Guardian Morkko you want to adopt. He has Visible Wildcat Spots. You might think that all of his offspring will inherit the Wildcat Spots trait. However, if you look him up in Advanced Search, you'll see that the code for his Wildcat Spots is "(BC)." "B" is the Morkko Gene One code for Wildcat Spots, but what about that "C"? That's the code for the War Paint traits.

Therefore, about half of your boy's offspring will inherit Wildcat Spots and half will inherit War Paint. His Wildcat Spots are his Hidden trait.

Now, look at the Candlelit Lunemara girl you want to adopt. She has Vis Silky. If you look her up in Advanced Search, the code for her Silky trait is "(DD)." She is pure Silky; nothing Hidden. All her offspring will inherit Silky from her.
