"Why would he know where she is?" Lacey asked. She had gotten a lot more used to asking questions and just talking to people in general, and was enjoying that luxury as often as possible.

"K." She said,popping a piece of gum in her mouth."You guys want some?By the way,Ayden i found this in your room...sorry i just grabbed a pack." she smiled mischeviously.

Where they not coming back? Serves her right for trying to make some new friends. Marcurio would know better then her he had been burned by that fire more than once before. Maybe it would be better if she just went back to him and left this all behind. Maggie (or was it Molly?) was asleep at her feet the shadow of a dog watching over her as she did. Well she very well couldn't wake the child could she? So waiting for the others it was.

"Hey!" Aydan said, grabbing the package from Ash. "I would prefer it if you didn't take my stuff without asking. It's not like I can go out and buy more" He gave a piece of gum to Lacey before handing the gum back to Ash. " I don't actually like this flavour much, though, so I guess you can keep it. Anyway, we're wasting time. I have an idea. The little girl with Ase was doing something with shadows. This may sound crazy, but I was thinking that we could just ask the shadows where she is"
"But what if they don't want us to find her? And what if only she can talk to them? It's not exactly normal for people to go around talking to shadows, and that's saying something considering that everything in this place is far from normal" Lacey pointed out.

She grabbed the gum back."Since when did you snatch?" she said."I don't care what we do so.." She said shrugging her shoulders.

"DeargodIhopethatItridoesn'tenduplikethiswhenhe'solder" Aydan muttered under his breath before turning toface one of the walls of the hallway. "Umm..." He coughed awkwardly. "Hello? Uh.. Do any of you shadows know where we could find the little girl and the scientist that was traveling with her?"
For what was probably the first time in her life, Lacey laughed.Well, she more just snorted with amusement, but she had never really had any reason to find anything funny before, so it was a nice change of pace for her.

"God...This is stupid.." She said,shaking her head.She kicked the wall with her leg,making a foothold.She climbed up and grabbed the camera,dropping it on the ground."evidence."She said,folding her arms.

"Oh god I had forgotten that this place is loaded with cameras" Aydan said in a worried tone. "I've broken so many rules..." He sat down against the wall and put his head in his hands. "I am going to be in so much trouble".

"Who cares?" She snorted,starting to flip through the video on the camera."Cause i dont.Now are we goin to do something or not?"

"I care!" Aydan growled, standing up straight and glaring down at Ash. "You may not care, but this place is my life. I'm not at all human, and I can't blend in out there like you can. They can't kick me out of the lab for breaking rules, but they can revoke my title of scientist. If I become nothing more than an experiment, I'll lose Itri, and I am not willing to let that happen. If the footage of me helping you and those other kids escape is seen by the higher ups, I'll have to get down on my knees and beg in order to have any chance of keeping my own son! So stop being so nonchalant about everything and care about someone other than just yourself for once!". He stepped back after his rant and blinked. He continued talking in his usual calm, even tone. "I apologize. I shouldn't have shouted" He turned around and continued calling for shadows to help them, as well as calling Ase's name.

Lacey was shaking after Aydan lost his temper as though he was yelling at her instead of Ashes. She was used to yelling, but Aydan had always seemed so calm and collected around her that the outburst was extremely unexpected.
