She led them onto a small spacecraft, gesturing them to follow her up to the bridge. She pulled up another floating holographic screen near the ship's bay window, looking over a star chart with curiosity.

Nicote's mouth dropped open. "How much did I miss while I was stuck in a box for 50 years again?"

"Not that much according to Terrarine standards, so calm down." Kari rolled her eyes, though she was impressed.

"Is that...a halogram?" Meinke gaped. "We're barely able to get computers working and they'r ebasic compared to Earthian technology."

It's great when I write reminders and then forget to check said reminders.

She laughed a bit.
"Well, these are a fairly recent tech of the Federation's. It was becoming easier to improve on existing projection technologies than to keep funneling money into supplies for large, more traditional display screens to be shipped from Earth. They.. take some getting used to, to say the least."

"Now, any of these planets look familiar to you? Even a neighboring star cluster would work for me."
She took a step back to allow the children to look over the screen.

Kari and Meinke turned to Nicote. "What?"

"You're the only one who's ever seen a clear sky." Kari told him. The boy sighed, rolled his eyes, and looked over the screen, lips moving silently. At one point he stole-uh, borrowed-a scrap of paper and a pencil from Meinke.

Some time later, he straightened. "I connot be sure but I believe it's this one." He pointed to one on the screen. "One sun, one moon, vast oceans and continents. 12 thousand light years from Earth. Oh, um, it may or not look very different, most of it's covered in....stuff you probably don't wat to land your ship in. It distorts the view of everything from a distance as well."

(I'm trying to write honestly but I think I've hit my limit for today since my nerves are on the fritz tonight and I can't focus for more than giving really short replies. I'll try to get a response up in the morning when I'm more clearheaded and dealing with hopefully less pain.)
