Name: Cypress Woods

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Lithromantic


Appearance: Long black hair, usually tied back. Pale snow-like skin. Bright green eyes. He's 5'7

Intuitive or Hunter?: Hunter. [Secret Intuitive, he doesn't know it. He has an always flowing ability, it only ever flickers when influenced by, for example, drugs. or alcohol. He radiates fear, which means you'll feel uneasy standing next to, or close to him. It doesn't work through walls, even if he's pressed right up against it. However if he touches you [has to be bare skin, no clothing inbetween] his power has a much different effect. When affected by his power like this it makes people hysterical, emotions all jumbled up but overpowered with the overwhelming "Flight or Fight" instinct. The flaw in it is that the person can either attack him in fear, or run away in fear. The affect will last about 3 minutes if the person does run away. Sort of like how when you touch a wild animal they freakout and bite or try to run. The biggest flaw of all this is that the more afraid you are of him, the braver and more violent he gets. So the closer you are to him the more antsy you get and the more angry he gets. This ability can be influenced by calming drugs and alcohol though. When drugged it becomes very mild. So you just kind of feel like someones poking you when standing next to him, and he's just a little peeved. An example of a fault in this ability is when he's surrounded by people, it doesn't really work in anything more than a 1v1 or 1v2 situation.]

Personality: Cypress is brash, reckless, and stand-offish. He tends to charge in first and do the most damage, he's an oaf in social situations. He despises being un-useful, and tries his best to do everything right. Cranky when tired but willing to follow directions, he makes a good fighter. He gets restless with mundane tasks.

Backstory: Cypress was adopted as a baby, and later learned that all of his adopted family were intuitives. But because he was normal he was spared. He got shoved back into the foster home, but no family wanted to take him for long. Traumatized by all of his family being slaughtered when he was a child, especially since he was close with his older brother, he developed some behavioral problems. He became stubborn, angry, and uncooperative. He frequently got in trouble at school and was soon bullied, rumours spreading that he was raised by Intuitives. However soon nobody messed with him, not when he slugged one kid in the head in 7th grade. He only got worse as time passed, being passed around by different schools and different families. As soon as he aged out of the system, he was contacted by the branch of government that handled Intuitives. Theh told him that because of his violent behavior, he would make a perfect hunter. Otherwise, they could potentially label him as a threat to society, frame him as a terrorist and kill him. And it would only look good for them, because in the eyes of the public they would have eliminated a Intuitive-raised violent monster.

Cypress accepted, because at this point he had nothing to loose. The only family he ever had was dead, he was depressed and lonely and didn't care that he'd be doing the same thing that he hated the government for doing, and hating himself for ever being a part of.

RP Example: Cypress walked down the drizzly alleyway in silence. Steamy breath. His boots splashed in the thin sheet of water cascading the cracked asphalt and towards the gutters, crappy convenience store headphones blaring the local radio station from under his hood. The peppy woman reminding you which station you were listening to as it cut to the scheduled ads. He was only half listening to what she said, he had a job to do, and granted, he probably shouldn't have been listening at all, but he couldn't give a rats******what the government thought he should be doing. Hunters protocol and all that grabbled propaganda.

Intuitive or Hunter?: Intuitive

Intuitive Explanation (Intuitive Only): Short: Reuvan can turn himself, and others, invisible at will.

Flaw AND Fault (Intuitive Only) His ability doesn't really work I think if its a free flowing thing, afterall, its kind of pointless if you just turn invisible like, in the bookstore for example, but stay visible when in a standoff with a hunter. It wouldn't really make it useful in anyway, so thats one of the reasons that having it be a on/off lightswitch thing seems more reasonable. Now I think having it flicker is okay. I was also thinking about the whole "turn others invisible" thing. That kind of seems OP now that I think about it, so Ima limit that down to one other person, and he has to keep the other person within 10 feet of him.

Personality: Reuvan usually doesn't mind being around people, he can hold a conversation with almost anyone, even if he doesn't like them. He often has trouble sleeping and may be found wandering around at night when everyone else is asleep, because of this it usually looks like someones smudged charcoal under his eyes. He can be cold and unfeeling alot of the time. He can keep a calm head in just about any situatiosituation and is fairly intelligent. However he is also selfless, and will throw his own life away for another without a second thought. Not because he feels for the other person, but because he doesn't think highly of his own life, and because of this he gets frequently injured.

Backstory (Make it good): Life had been kind to Reuvan, when his parents found out he was an Intuitive they just... let him go. They knew that if he did do anything dangerous he'd get what he deserved, and if he was smart, he would survive. And he was smart. He very quickly found work and made connections (even if they are nothing more than that). He lives life on the downlow, and although he's lucky for a Intuitive, he's also depressed. He's depressed that he can never be anything more than a rent spliter without a stable job, because if he ever rose above that status he'd get unwanted, uneeded attention. He wants to do something, with the little he has.

RP Example: I hid in a bookshop while it rained out side. My hood was down, jacket unzipped and pockets empty. I was looking as unintrusive as I could while browsing the cookbook section. Some hunter had been walking around earlier, just wafting malicious intent, their eyes shifty and their stance predatory. Thankfully, I'd been unmarked by whatever tracking device they'd developed now. I'd been doing okay for the last year, finding some work occasionally and living in a small apartment with 3 other people. We split rent, and one of them was never there so it was cool. I was lucky for and Intuitive. I was lucky that my oddity was lowkey, and never appeared unless I willed it to. I was lucky. But so many were not.


Do you plan to kill this character?: Lol if you couldn't tell already, I love writing gorey scenes with Reu. So yes.
