I walk up to the clearing that I think is where were supposed to meet. I guess Im nervous, but I dont care. I look around, not impressed. Emerald is right next to me, her smirk matching mine. I whisper a reminder to her to be careful. We dont even know what were supposed to be doing.

Angel flew in the sky, the harsh cold wind biting her face. Her sister, who was strapped on her back, was squealing and cooing with delight. Conquest snorted, signaling that she spotted a clearing below. She suddenly dove down, landing on the ground with a thump.
"Jeez, it's so cold." Angel coughed. "It's like living in Antarctica."
Conquest nodded, blowing warm air out of her nose.

I casually wipe my face, and pick off whatever it was, flicking it away. I feel a small trickle of blood, and I say,
"It's a scab from Shurikan's last kill." I say, remembering the deer. A drop of the acidic venom had gotten onto my food, and it burned a small crevice into my face. I staunch the blood with a finger, and once it stops, lick my finger clean and make the scab less noticeable.
"Venom." I say, to clarify.

"He's venomous?" Her eyes grew wide. "So I was right. His breed is probably one that was used as a war dragon or a soldier's companion. But not a common breed.... Winter's not either. He can fly without wings, which is a huge advantage- nothing can stop him from fighting."
