Well since most of my thoughts on the festival were already mentioned, I will just requote the ones I agree with.
Divinis "On caroling - I don't really have any opinions on changing the excitement level of it, but i will say the first few days presents were sold in the diamond shop I was a little sad. I am all for people supporting the site (I do when I can! promise!), and I know you guys have to make money to keep going, but i don't feel like you should ever have the opportunity to win a contest by throwing money at it. To be clear this is not a dig on anyone who bought presents by any means whatsoever! Thank you for supporting a site I love - and for the presents you gave me! :) This is only a dig on the mechanics of the contest."
This thought had crossed my mind also.
Maybe the points given for giving a gift can be reduced down to maybe +5 or so instead of the +20. This would help keep the scoring a little closer. Also having the presents avaliable by using gold, as in the FF, help made more players able to gift.
Ladygin "Love the door to door. Especially with the change from every 6 hours to once a day, gave everyone more of a chance."
I have to agree, the once per day is the way to go with the door to door feature.
" I was thinking maybe that could become a daily game here.Once a day you could spin the wheel. Prizes could vary(not scanners or test kits) from gold to maybe dyes or whatever."
This thought also crossed my mind, and was going to make this suggestion.
Inventrix "The advent calendar was also a really great idea, I thought, although it would've been more fun if it'd been a proper 25-day advent calendar. That or run for the whole festival instead of just the first few days up through Christmas. As it was, it felt a little short and forgotten - especially with the bulk of the festival happening afterwards."
I felt the same way about this also
Kaufee "The Ice Queen event was 12389767124 times better than the Horseman, in my opinion. The fact that the bandits dropped presents and tickets made them something I WANTED to kill, and not just something I needed to plow through to get to the queen. Very awesome decision there. c:"
I felt the same way about this. After my first couple battles, I looked forward to meeting up with the Ice Queen every time as she had nice drops also!
Yukihoshika "I've come up with my own idea with caroling and door to door game that can be found here http://www.sylestia.com/forums/?thread=9912 Everything went along fantastically and I look forward to then next festival! :3"
This is an awesome idea!
btw...One of my favorite parts with caroling though is checking out everyones avatars. It kind of makes it a way to get to know the community a little better. :) Plus I love the creativity that is shown here!

well most of this has been said already but oh well xD
some things i really liked were the Wheel of Festive Cheer, Presents and the Pets. The wheel was super fun and i loved watching it go round and round, the only thing i didn't like about it was the fact that all you really got from it were Scanners,Test Kits and the Gifts. like the Idea of you guys adding more useful and better things to it next time. I also liked the presents that you could find in the Zone (even though all i ever really got were the darn Scanners and very small amounts of gold) xD The Forum Games were really fun to do as well, just wish i knew ahead of time when Franken Pet and the Pick a Door game was gonna start cause i ended up missing most of them =( and then there were the pets...omg the pets were really cute and adding the Griffi for the Festival was awesome.
some things i didn't like to much was the fact that the Festival and Festive pets were very hard to find and when you finally did find a rare one they would almost always run away when you tried to catch them (at least for me they did...maybe i just had super bad luck :/ ). but i was really sad to not have even seen more then 1 Arctic Storm Griffi and Aurora/Festive Nephini even after i sent SOOO much time in the Zone (they were my favorite pets in the Zone =( ) maybe next time you could make some of the pets less rare to find and make the "Wild" pets a little less common? the other thing i didn't really like was the boss battle...well i liked the fact there was one but it just took WAY to long to kill her and it got kinda boring after a while. maybe if you made the battle a little shorter and maybe made it so that a different boss could spawn instead of just the same one every time...that would also be a way to add in different boss drops since from the Ice queen all I ever got really was the Swirling Snow (which was really pretty but I got way to many of them xD)
some things i thought were okay were Caroling and the Advent Calender. i did like the whole gifting other people thing, but i just felt like it was missing something. i know you said you're going to upgrade it for the next festival so i can't wait to see how it turns out =) the other thing was the Advent Calender. again i really like the idea but just felt it was too short. the prizes in it were okay, but the last prize was a little disappointing in my opinion since i won't ever really use the title :/
well that's all i really have to say xD hope to see some really great things in the up coming Festivals!!! =D

I loved the Winter Festival. I know that some people said they only saw a few themed pets, but I actually saw more that I did in the Fall Festival, which was good. XD Having said that, that refers only to the first set of themed pets. I saw very few Festive pets in the wild. I figured that was largely due to luck, though. That, and I had less time to hunt towards the end of the festival.
Caroling: I had a love/hate relationship with this. It is a great way to earn frost tokens (which I desperately needed as I wanted 1 of everything the shop had to offer). But it takes a very long time to do if you go through all of the carolers each day. Especially when you have a really slow computer like mine. A possible suggestion in regards to this (and I have no idea if it is possible since I know nothing about computer coding) is whether it could be arranged that the only people that showed up while you were carolling were ones that you could sing to. It did get a bit frustrating after a while to go through and find a great many people that hadn't greeted your last visit. I did like seeing the presents in the diamond shop, though. :) And I look forward to seeing what you come up with to spice things up in this area.
Wheel of Cheer: I loved this game. I like the suggestion someone had of making it a game where you can spin the wheel once a day. I also love the idea of having prizes like 1 vis, 2 vis pets, and so on. As many people said, though, I hated the scanners and test kits as prizes. I know that a lot of people don't have the unlimited use ones you can buy in the diamond shop, but it seemed as though every box in the field had them, too. The only reason I didn't buy tickets with diamonds was the knowledge that I was very likely to get more scanners or test kits.
Advent Calendar: I loved this event. I would have loved to see it last for the whole month of December, or the length of the festival, but I thought it was a nice treat just as it was.
Griffis: An amazing new species that has become a new obsesson with me. And the AS griffis were the best themed pet in my opinion. I very much hopw to see griffis in the wild during the next winter festival, too.
Dynamic Event: I loved everything about the event. From being able to ignore it if you wanted to, to the items the bandits, and queen dropped, to, well...everything. XD

The whole reindeer/bandits series of events was a bit too much. And even when I figured out the boss's shtick, it took a bit much to defeat her.
It also might have been nice if it was easier to run into festive/winter-themed pets (I only ran into one, and that battle got interrupted when Krin reset the zone). But other than that, I liked the Winter Festival Zone. And the Wheel was a lot of fun. Just wish it was easier to get tickets for it!

I think the whole winter event kicked off, and went very well! Even though there were some issues here and there, some delays, and lots of "Solar" Cloudflare-s, it was still very enjoyable. And I completely understand how you must have felt, with all the issues, considering you're the one-man scripting "army" for Sylestia! ^_^

Thank you guys very much for another successful Festival! It was amazing and I love how us users help you two to shape it!
Caroling: I've always enjoyed this feature to a degree. Definitely like how it was changed to once a day, which reset at midnight. This made it a more level playing field to get up in rankings. I will be very interested to see what changes will be made to it to make the door to door stuff more user friendly. I do have a suggestion, it does get tedious when you go door to door only to see tons of people who have yet to respond to you. I think it would be nice, when going door to door, that you only see people that you can visit. That way it takes less time to do a whole round. I do like how people only show up as an option to visit if the last time they came on the site was within the last two days. That saves a lot of clicking.
Advent Calendar: I really liked this holiday treat. As someone who gets one every year for the holidays, it made me very happy to get an online one too! It just added a little something to celebrating the holidays online. Thank you for this treat, Krin and Fai! :D
Festival Zone/Dynamic Event: I really liked how the Festival Zone was mapped out. Getting around the zone was easy, and I really liked the tree angel! The Dynamic Event was a lot of fun and way better that the Fall Festival one! It was very nice to see that you could participate in it if you so choose (which I did 99% of the time). I loved that the Bandits were dropping items, even on rare occasions Wheel Tickets. My were they really successful in robbing Father Frost. I guess the bandits got lots of coal this year! XD The Queen took some time but wasn't overly difficult for me. The longer than normal fight was definitely worth the rewards that you could gain. That was very generous and I really enjoyed that!
Festival Pets: I really liked many of the Festival Pet colour combinations this Festival! I have to admit, I am a big fan of white and blue together! The chances of finding the Festival Pets were a bit low I felt, but I can understand if you wanted them to be move valued this time around. I loved the Griffi as the new pet! I've always loved Griffins (I actually had my Ice Griffin Woodbaby that I ordered come in during the festival). The Arctic Storm Griffi has to be my favourite Festival pet to date. I love the colour combinations!
Wheel of Cheer: I thought this was a lovely addition to the Festival! I had lots of fun using it. I am very happy to hear that you will be adding more options to win the Wheel pets, but with different numbers of visual traits. That way more people will have a chance to win one. I didn't mind most of the prizes on the wheel, it was just the scanners and test kits that I did not enjoy, as they were quite common in the festival zone too. Thank you for adding this to the Winter Festival as it gave us users a chance to win some awesome stuff!
Krin and Fai, thank you both for all the hard work and love that went into this Festival! I had a blast participating in it as did much of the community. I look forward to watching the future Festivals grow!
I am curious about something. I know that a new pet is released every Seasonal Festival. Is there a chance for a new pet to be released for the Week of Love?

I really quite enjoyed everything about the Winter Festival except for the caroling/gifting. Too often, it felt like the only reward you could look forward to after gifting someone unannounced was a single Frost Token. I'm not sure how you'd fix this, but it could make you feel a bit lonely. (That being said, major props to the thank yous received. Those were just as much a reward as tokens or gifts.)
As for the themed pets - I think the reason everyone was having such trouble finding them was because they were mobbing me. Seriously - that was a bit freaky, and I quickly ran out of room for all the Rare and Epic pets I came across. That sounded braggy. I'm sorry. What I meant to get across is that I felt that the rarity of pets was pretty good, actually, and I'm pleased to have found the things I did, especially when that meant making someone else's day. I thought the Griffi and the Emperor Sylvorpa were especially gorgeous.
Overall, I'd say the WF was a success, and as a hoarder of test kits/scanners, I had little problem accepting them, though it got pretty depressing when those and philters I'll never use were all the Wheel gave me...
Thank you for a highly enjoyable Festival, and good luck with the next!
