It's hard to guess. But noting what happened the last time there was a war and Sachira was in it, there's probably one understandable reason.

It makes sense. Losing her parents at such a young age would definitely make a child worried that could happen again.

Then maybe Sachira should be the adult and try to spend time with her? Instead of expecting her child to initiate everything when she's in a scary situation and already has a poor relationship with her?
