Just started today and one of my quests is Jinxie's 'Capture a pet' quest. I used a trap on one but it didnt complete the quest.
I was wondering if I was doing anything wrong because I dont see a capture pet icon anywhere. Any help?

So I have a standard genetic test kit and was wondering in more detail what it does, but more importantly where I can get more. I don't have diamonds to get the 'higher level' test kit, and from the quick description the standard one gives, it sounds like a really, really nifty piece of equipment to have. XD

A genetic test kit basically lets you see all the genetic info a pet has. So for adolescents and adults, you'll get to see if there's any hidden genes/mutations that it carries and are not visibly shown on the pet. For hatchlings, it'll let you see the hidden genes and if there's any mutations (visible/carry) on the pet.
(this is because hatchlings do not show any mutations, only visible genes. Adolescents and adults show all visible traits)
As far as I know, you can't buy the standard genetic test kits except through the trade broker from other players. I think there's a chance of getting them during festivals, but I'm not too sure about that. =/
If you want your pets to be tested, and you can't afford to buy a lot of standard genetic test kits, or buy the exceptional one with diamonds, there are people who offer to test other's pets for free. You can find those in the breeding forums.

Hope this helps. =)

And yes... That definitely helped. XD Thanks so much!

Hi! Another question! :) Or two lol
How do I make sure my Selesti have good equipment? My equipment tab is close to full and I only want to keep the good stuff. Being a newbie, I'm not sure what to keep and what to get rid of.
Also, what is the Broker Item button for?

And of course yet another question. :P
In the scale shop there are eggs for all sorts of prices... What's the highest priced egg and what types of Sylestis do those eggs usually contain?
And of course the broker item button :P What's it for?

The type of equipment you give your pets will depends on what stats you want your pets to have.
If you're following the typical tank and glass cannons, save the high agility equipment for your tanker, and the strength/ intelligence equipment for your strength/ intelligent based pet respectively.
(only use either strength OR intelligence, the two are kind of mutually exclusive.)
Agility increases avoidance chance, while dexterity increases critical hits. So you'll probably want equipment that increases dexterity for your cannons as well.
For mission pets, just use the highest equipment you can that boosts that one trait the pet specialises in. It's useful to have a bunch of mission pets, that only have one stat boosted and specialised for that one kind of mission.
As to what equipment to keep, I generally keep the rarer equipment over the uncommon ones. Mythical > legendary > epic > rare... So if I have a legendary and epic that boosts the same traits, I'll keep/use the legendary and sell the epic to save space.
The broker item button lets you sell the item on the trade broker to other players.
So when you want to sell an item, you can right click it and sell it for its base price, or use the broker item button and sell it to other players at the price you want. The trade broker system claims a small percentage of your selling price though. (can't rmb how much)
As far as I know, the scale eggs only contain the common species (no fableds). And it's random, so you never know what you'll get till it hatches. The highest I've seen is 1740 scales for an egg. That gave me a 2 visible pet (if I rmb correctly). My 980 scale egg and 1000 scale egg resulted in 1 vis pets (if I rmb correctly). Generally, the more expensive the egg, the more genetic traits it'll have.
