Francis looked around at his family and gave nervous looking Matty a reassuring smile. Out of all his adopted siblings, Matty was one of those he was closest to. Not only were they the same age, but their personalities rarely clashed. Efrim also stood nearby, restless fingers fiddling with his overcoat. Francis loved all his family, but if this meeting was about who was to be heir...

An uncomfortable feeling twisted in his gut. After being raised as the only heir until Efrim was conceived, and the fact that the rest of his siblings didn't even carry the same blood... He was torn on the subject. Much easier to forget it all and just work on perfecting his wings. How he would react to the final decision he had no idea.

I smile nervously back, wondering once again if I even deserve the possibility of being heir because I am not blood royalty.

I glance over at my other adopted sibling, Efrim, wondering how he feels about this. I feel a pang of loss for my siblings who were all dead or living elsewhere. I hadn't seen any of them in years. I think how different my life would have been had my parents not died. I would never even be here.

Changed the hummingbird. My only issue is that is states small animal. Foxes aren't really that small. Can we reach an agreement of a small fox such as a fennec fox?
