Obviously anyone who wanted to buy Sylestia would have to be in touch with the current player base or risk losing them.

You make a good point, Tori (and also Tori)... The new designs do seem overworked, but since I'm no expert on anything but seamonkeys, I have less to say about the quality of the revamps, and more to say about how involved and time-consuming they've become. If that makes sense?

Yeah that makes sense, we get where you're coming from. We definitely agree with that; if one thing gets this much care and user input than everything should really.
We're just deathly afraid of eyes turning back on the vorpas and getting re-done for the worse. We were excited with the shiny new vorpas when they came out. Now with each revamp we absolutely Dread when a new species is targeted. We had to drop all our lupora projects because of the recent lupora revamp, and we loved the luporas before! We're afraid of that happening to vorpas if they get any more attention Now given revamps are treated so much differently. Its wild how even revamping a species can change so drastically in such little time.

i am also unsure we need a full revamp, but traits are definitely in order, more wing options, maybe more tail options as well would be nice in the future.

Supposedly all the themes of all the previously revamped species are supposed to have their accents looked at. If that's the case then eventually we'll get to go through this with vorpas like what they're doing with the lupora themes.
I do think though that there's some earlier revamped species that need some updates still though including the vorpa. With some including the vorpa it's mostly about the layering. The way that mutation 1 can be affected by mutation 2 has always bothered me and I think that with proper new layering could be avoided. Overall though I like the look and feel of vorpas and would hope for them to not be too messed with at this point. I just think that new layering would help immensely.

I'd say the vorps should receive a "touch-up-revamp" if you ask me.
For example Leafy Seadragon Head fins.
I think that 90% of vorpa lovers can agree that this trait is horrendous. I think this trait could receive a minor update so that it doesn't look so out-of place.
Male vorpas in general should get touched up too, a lot of traits(both genes and muts) I love on the females don't just quite fit on males. Which is really sad since for example Naga helmet is one of my favorite traits on females, but on males it's...not the same, and I don't like the trait.
Water Dragon Horns are the opposite though. Love on males but hate on females. Suspecting this trait was designed on the males but copy-pasted the actual "horn" part on females.
I also believe they should get a trait re-organization. G1 traits like Blue Tang, Clown Triggerfish, and Henna should be in G3, or updated so they serve more as a G1 trait. Also Valentine Lace should be in G2, since that gene covers up most G2 traits :c
Saltwater Betta and Foxface Rabbitfish kind of confuse me as well. Why are those in different trait slots? They're both basically a face gene.
G3 wise I hope runes could be more subtle. Lotus Lights, is a beautiful trait and I adore it, but it can be very busy and hard to see the two or even 1 gene trait behind it.
But yeah, that's my wall of text there for these lovely seals.
Color organization would be nice too, if trait A pulls 3 colors, and trait B pulls only 1 color, both traits in the same slot, that'd be hard to design.

I agree about vorp mutations needing work for sure. So many of them, especially the M3s, are just... ugly. Fanned Head Fins looks good on girls but awful on boys. Naga Helmet is tragic. I despise Spooky Fog. Leafy Seadragon Head Fins is awful. Mystic Head Fins is better on the boys than Fanned, but still far less lovely and mystical looking than it is on the girls.
And it frustrates me the way that the wing traits completely disrupt some of the M1s, to the point where I don't use them because half the trait is missing because of the wings. I would love to use Petal Fins and Seashells more, but it's hardly feels worth it when all you get is that little bit of the mutation around the feet.
I want to agree about Lotus Lights, but I love it the way it is now D: But I do understand why some people might feel like it's busy. But I also think that vorp runes don't... shine the way a lot of other rune traits do. Some rune traits really feel like they glow - I'd love that on more vorp runes, at the moment a lot of their runes don't really feel like runes.
But I don't really think I'd want Henna G1 to be in the G3 slot even if I understand it from the perspective that a lot of G2s and 3s cover it up when it's in the G1 slot - but I think that's a failing of the vorp gene options rather than necessarily of the Henna trait itself. I have wanted to do a Henna/Henna project, but you can basically only use Iridescence G3 if you want to "feature" the Henna traits. I think I'd rather have the Henna G1 be more spread out? so that even if it's covered by some other traits, it doesn't get swallowed entirely? idk
...Completely off topic, but I finished my 6vis Max Stat Bird of Paradise Strelitzia Sylvorpa Water Dragon project! Anyone interested in acquiring one should hit me up on my sales thread :D

To offer my two cents, they need to leave wings alone until someone tells them how wings actually work. I have yet to see a species that lacks wings with wings added as a mutation were the wings look like they would realistically be where they are put.
//studiously ignores the wing joints of her vorps because while the wings are pretty, the joints are not
No scratch that even the ones with wings naturally look like they have cardboard cutout wings attached to them instead of actual growing wings... alright the Auri look fine winged but they are /birds/ so one would hope so...
To illustrate what I'm talking about go scroll threw the griffi wings. The normal crystals look fine but the wing joint (where the wing meets the body) bounces all over the shoulder as you scroll threw them. Or every wing mutation that the puffs have.
"But those are both old revamps or unrevamped"
>>
The Lunamara wings /bother/ me
//ends rant
Edit: Then again... look how far we've come

With every re-vamp the creators learn more about how to re-vamp a species--sometimes by learning what not to do.
If I could change one thing about Sylvorpas, it would be to improve the look of the heads, especially that of the adult male.* I'd like the gills to look more gill-like and the heads and necks to look more tapered and graceful.
On a different subject--check out this "Sylvorpa"--
I'll be adopting her/him in about a month. Feel free to envy me. (That's not her/his tank; that little boxy container was just for the photo shoot.)
*I also have a general complaint that adult male pets in general don't get enough attention paid to their looks.
