"I'm not a kid" Renae said defensively. "I have plenty of very good experience, I'm only here because my old agency was destroyed in that incident a few weeks ago!" She crossed her arms.

"New friend!!!" Cheryl said cheerfully as she swung the lab door open, spinning out. "Hello! You must be that new girl Renae! I've heard so much about you already I couldn't wait to meet you! My name is Cheryl, I'm the assistant forensic investigator here, you're a detective, right?" Cheryl said all at once, Renae attempting to match her enthusiasm.

"Cheryl, please try to make a good impression, we are professionals, please don't burst her eardrums on the first day" Joan said as she exited the lab. "Nice to meet you, Renae, I presume? My name is Joan, the head lab tech, I hope ol' Jon here hasn't bummed you out too much" Joan introduced herself, briefly shaking hands with Renae, who nodded in respect.

"Oh don't worry, I'm used to grumpy guys, not exactly the happiest career in the world, I'm just trying not to let my attitude bring anyone's mood down" Renae said with a smile, nodding towards Jon

Jon frowned slightly. "Don't make me regret agreeing to do this." He muttered, leaning back. "Say your hellos and say your goodbyes. We have other people to meet." He added, ignoring the other comments referring to him. He was in a better mood than he usually was. Especially since a certain other person wasn't in the office.
