That attitude is completely silly and ridiculous, and I'm sorry that you think that I hate your design but that just isn't true. There were a lot of design entries for genes and mutations, and we tried to limit the species to only getting one new of each.

There have been genes and mutations that we've implemented into the game that were old suggestions. So just because it's not picked and implemented immediately doesn't mean that we hate your design.

Krin I just want to say how much I love that you added Egg Nests and I hope you add them to the other festivals :) wonderful idea and helps people get themed pets a little easier.

I don't think you specifically hate what I've come up with...but other people here...and I honestly see no point in spending the time to make something if many people see no use for it...it would result in being a waste of time, at least I'd think that would be the case if a mutation, gene, clothing design, ect. wouldn't sell...but maybe I'm wrong on that.

I never ment to imply that you Fai hated anything I made...I was simply stating that it's likely that my designs will not be liked enough by other users.

aww come on guys, Krin and Fai would only be doing this for the benefit of the site. We should support them in all their endeavors as they support us. I am happy to see the changes as I am sure that exciting new things are around the corners.

Plus as they have said there is always the suggestions threads and the festival design comps so they give us plenty of opportunities to put out suggestions.

Well I am the one that picks new genes and mutations that are added into the game. So it's irrelevant if anyone has ever told you that they didn't like it or not. Although, considering I saw your mutation got compliments on it in the mutation design thread that appears to not be true.

But just because someone doesn't like your design doesn't mean that it's bad or you aren't a good designer or you don't have good ideas. You can't please everyone, you may think that something is the total bees knees but there is always a guarantee that someone else thinks it probably sucks.

You need to stop being so hard on yourself Ldd.
First off you have submitted some lovely work in the past. Second of all when it comes to art, do it for yourself, and just not to solely try and please everyone else......that will never work! If it pleases just one other person that should make you happy. :)
Even the most famous artists musicians, writers etc. etc. have also had failures in the past...only a very very few "gifted" few seem to have that magical ability to consistently turn out work that is well liked by the masses, can probably count the amount of those types of artists on one hand!

Just remember to do it for yourself first and utmost!

There is this obscure musical band that I have came to like, that has been around for 25+ years, The Fall. They have there own style which stands out, but does require a certain taste and it doesnt appeal to most people...but yet the band enjoys what they do and the music they make, and to this day still make recordings.

A few years back they titled one of there greatest hits CD's "50,000 fans can't be wrong!" Now that is actually a very small number for a fan base to keep many to continue recording and touring, yet they still do..not to please others, but because it makes them happy. :)

Hopefully you take some of this to heart Ldd, and continue on designing and coming up with future ideas and sharing them with us here!
