I did have some questions abouts the future.
1. Total revamp Ive heard rumors that the site with have a complete rework of the entire exploration system from Esiors Haven to the lost grove is that still being considered?
2. Will we go pasted level 75 in our pet levels like to 100?
3. Would you consider hiring some help for Sylestia I know that there are moderators Like Pirate But when your discus not having enough time would it be helpful to Hire someone on the back end to clean up the code? This is your baby and your project but if you cant do it all would it be helpful to get another person even if part time?
1. Yep. 100%. My current plan is to finish the Breeding Grounds revamp, then potentially revamp the Scale Shop, and then start working on the massive Exploration revamp project.
2. The whole leveling process will definitely be changing. I haven't decided on any numbers just yet. I imagine, at first, the level cap will be lower than it is now and then slowly increase over time as new content is unlocked. It is very possible that, down the road, the level cap eventually surpasses where it is now.
3. Perhaps down the road, but not at this point in time. I'm not really one to ask or expect people to work for free, so that's out of the question. That also often leads to many issues down the road and you can look at many other games that have done that - it's not a recipe for long-term success. I don't have the resources right now to hire additional developers and even if I did, I would only want to hire someone I personally know and trust and I don't know anyone at the moment who would fit what I'd be looking for. I think the only way I'd end up hiring additional developers is if I have plenty of resources to support it and if Sylestia is in a big enough growth state that it warrants it. At that point, I'd probably look into opening an actual studio and I can confidently say that we are many many years, at minimum, away from that scenario. =P
1. To kind of piggyback off of the stable comments, would there ever be a feature to either edit the number of stalls per row, or just have all the tabs have even numbers per row (which would probably require an extra stall but :/)? It's slightly irritating lining up breeding pairs and having the last row broken up, and an extra un-paired pet on the page.
2. A pet game I used to play called Wajas has a Bank feature, where you can store your currency to help you budget. Flight Rising has a similar Vault feature for items and I think also currency, but I could be mistaken on that one. Is a bank/vault-type feature something you would consider implementing here, for gold and/or diamonds?
3. This is technically two questions, but both pertain to fest quality-of-life, so hopefully this is allowed (and if not, please disregard the second one).
As more players join, leaderboards have become increasingly competitive, especially nurture boards. I understand that that is, in fact, The Point, but I also see myself, and judging by region chat, many others who get kicked off by a VERY small number of points. Would you possibly consider increasing the boards to maybe 15 slots? As for my second point, I am aware it would require re-coding unless something could be maybe copied from another fest (I know absolutely nothing about coding), but would Summer Fest sand sculpting ever switch to slow hourly point increases like the other fest catalyst creations?
But anyway, thank you for this wonderful game :)
1. It's definitely within the realm of possibility that I adjust how Stable space works in the future. I can't say how that'd be adjusted at this point in time as it's not really on my immediate radar, but I think it's fair to say it could change at some point.
2. Heh. I know that a bank has been a requested feature for like 10+ years now. I still don't have any immediate plans to add one. I'm not going to say I'll never add one, but I just don't have a plan to at this point in time. I do, however, have plans on completely reworking how inventories work when I work on the Exploration revamp.
3. For Leaderboards, I don't have any plans to expand beyond 15 placements at this point in time. We actually had a lot more active players back when we first expanded to 15 placements and it's dropped quite a bit since then. I still think 15x2x22 (660 total) is plenty of slots for our current active playerbase. Even right now, looking through the active contest, some boards are basically 10-15 minutes worth of battling and you can be on a board. The Nurturing boards all scale from about a 300% increase from 15th to 1st. I think both have plenty of availability for players to make them with minimal effort.
The original concept for these features was always to have them be a bit different from one another. The main reason for this is because I wanted to do what I could to make each season feel a little bit unique. I feel that if it's the exact same approach for all four seasons, feature-fatigue will kick in way faster. For each Festival, all of the drop rates and features are all balanced around these differences. For example, Summer Festival also gets Beach Treasure Seeking - which adds a ton of rewards into the pool for players. Believe it or not, but Summer Festival actually saw more created pets from Sylesti Sand Sculpting (7,300) than Spring Festival did from Sylesti Gardening (6,300 in 2025) or Winter Festival did from Sylesti Ice Sculpting (5,500 in 2024). And this is despite Summer Festival usually having the lowest amount of daily active players relative to the other Festivals just due to time of year.
