There is a way to pick the trait you get from the Restricted Disruptor, Zenzafin, but it isn't easy. Here's how it works (Spelf switches to Lecturing Professor avatar).


Consider the Water Dragon Disruptor. It can give one of four traits: Gene 3 Water Dragon Runes, Mutation 1 Water Dragon Fins, Mutation 2 Water Dragon Wings, and Mutation 3 Water Dragon Horns. You can only give the Disruptor to a Sylvorpa who has at least 1 Visible trait. This Visible trait will be "sacrificed" (deleted) when the Disruptor creates the Water Dragon trait.

Therefore, Kaiserin Siren can't drink a Water Dragon Disruptor--

Good.
Gene One: Blue Tang
Gene Two: Water Sprite
Gene Three: Iridescence
Mutation One: Mystic Fins
Mutation Two: Fairy Wings
Mutation Three: Angler Lights

--but Chesapeake can--

Gene Three: None
Mutation One: None
Mutation Two: None
Mutation Three: Angler Lights

However, it isn't enough for the pet to have a Visible trait. The pet also has to have at least 1 of the Water Dragon trait slots (Gene 1, Mutation 1, Mutation 2, or Mutation 3) that does not have a Carried trait. A Carried trait blocks the placement of a Restricted trait in that slot. So Marvin can't drink a Water Dragon Disruptor either--

Mutation Two: Webbed Wings
Mutation Three: Angler Lights

If a Water Dragon trait slot contains a Visible trait, however, that pet can drink a Water Dragon Disruptor, because the Disruptor will "take" the Visible trait, clearing that slot for the new Water Dragon trait. Thus, Gust Front could drink a Water Dragon Disruptor--

But I don't want to.
Gene One: None
Gene Two: None
Gene Three: Pollen Markings
Mutation One: Sharp Webbing
Mutation Two: Fairy Wings
Mutation Three: Spooky Fog

If he did, the Disruptor would delete his Pollen Markings, freeing that slot to receive Water Dragon Runes--


He couldn't get any trait other than Water Dragon Runes, because Mutations 1, 2, and 3 are blocked by Carried traits.

This is how you can select which Water Dragon trait a pet gets--by picking just the right pet to give the Disruptor to: a pet that has the 3 trait slots of the Water Dragon traits you don't want blocked by Carried traits. If 2 or more of the Water Dragon trait slots are either open or have Visible traits, the Disruptor will randomly pick one of those locations to put a Water Dragon trait into.

In other news, I have collected quite a happy little pile of Unstable Potion Sylvorpas, and I'm pleased to say I think I have all the parentage I desire for a very shiny 6V project indeed! ^.^

As per usual, I probably won't be able to commit to just one G1, M1, or M3 trait. How could I possibly pick a favorite? So there will likely be a few permutations, but I think you can get the gist! ^.^

Sadly, I've promised myself I need to finish no less than two of my current projects before I start another. Just a reminder, my Water Dragon Deep Seas, Dragon-winged Lochness, 6V Lucky, and Dragon-winged Sunsongs are likely the next projects I'll be finishing up.
