Shell snickered and dove straight into the frothing waters of the ocean.

Knuckles flashed an 'ok' sign. He tapped the device on his neck and summoned his emerald. The yellow gemstone pulses rapidly, responding to another emeralds presence nearby. He didn't say anything though, trying to avoid a mouthful of saltwater.

The currents shifted violently, nearly knocking Shell off course. A strange rumbling sound crashed throughout the waters, a flash of light blue was seen in the distant murky ocean floor.

We're almost there... Knux thought, gripping onto one of her spines. He'd be able to fight this time; the device around his neck allowed him to stay underwater for longer periods of time.

Shell sped up by sticking a wing into a faster, warmer current. She pulled it out as they neared the creature, slowing to a stop.

Knuckles pumped a fist as if to say 'Let's do this thing!', a determined gleam in his eyes.

Shell let out a muffled roar. She shot towards the creature barreling into it with several tons of force.

Kncukles waited for Shell to get in close before jumping off her and latching onto the beast. He slashed with the metal claws, hoping to do some damage.
