You walk towards the cave, you can see a small pool of water in front of it and a few trees surround it. When you enter the cave you see it is much cooler and could make a good home.

I decide to stay there for a while, but I have to look around first.

You creep deeper into the cave and find some old bones and a human skull.

I search for anything else- this is a dead person or creature, so something else much be inside the cave if the creature owned anything. But who or what killed it?

You search around and find a small scroll. it is too bleached out too read but you can make out a faint star symbol.
