Rhys held up his pizza as a toast, the group got some weird looks from some of the others in the buffet, but they just went back to eating. Rhys started eating his pizza happily, then got some meat pizza for his dragon.

"Ah, I see. What happened anyway, if you don't mind me asking?" Piper's voice had gotten quiet. She bit into another slice, pulling off the olives and offering them to Solace, who took them eagerly.

After trying some of Erin's pizza, I decided to get more of the same type. After holding one of the slices to toast along with Rhys, I then offered some to Gervasius.

"Come on, cheer up. Here, try a bit." Gervasius took one look at the toppings and shook his head. You think I'd eat that? Come on. I frowned slightly, but didn't try to force him to take any, and instead took a bite out of the slice in my hand.

"Here, maybe he'll like this," Piper reached across the table to hand over a slice with just a few tomatoes. She pointed at Gervasius. "Can I pet him?"

"I haven't a clue as to what you Lunemara eat. In all of my stories, I know of the supernatural, I know of the Fae, I know of many of the magical, I know of the Selkie an' their many magical songs, I know of dragons an' their cousins- but I do not know of the Lunemara. Are you omnivorous like us humans?" Erin asked the two Lunemara.

Gervasius' eyes were immediately drawn to the small blobs of red on the pizza. He seemed more alert all of a sudden, as if drawn to the tomatoes.

"This is just a thing of you not accepting food from me, isn't it Gervasius?" I mumbled, mildly embarrassed by his apparent interest in being friends with anyone but myself. The small hatchling turned his head to look at me. Or perhaps your taste in pizza is awful. I sighed. "Suit yourself. And yes, I'm sure he wouldn't mind being petted."

He hopped down from my shoulder, then looked over at me. If there was ever a way in which a caterpillar could have looked smug, that was it at that moment. You're just jealous. My eyes widened a little, and my cheeks went a subtle crimson.

"I... don't know what you're talking about," I said, continuing to eat my pizza as if he had said nothing.

Piper smiled at the little caterpillar. "Here you go." She held out the slice of pizza, then with two fingers, delicately stroked the little Lunemara's different-shades-of-silver fur. "Aww.." he watched as the lunemara took the little slice in it's hands, then turned to speak to Rick. "Gervasius, right? Cool name."

Gervasius seemed rather pleased with himself as he ate his way through the pizza. Although the slice itself was almost as big as he was, he seemed to have little trouble with it.

"Yeah, it's an old Latinised German name meaning 'spear'," I explained, watching as the pre-occupied Lunemara began to pick the tomatoes off. "I... thought it was just a cool name at the time, it wasn't really meant to reflect his personality. But now that I think about it... it kind of does." Gervasius' head bobbed up for a second, giving me a stare that dared me to take that analogy further. But I refrained from doing so, and he instead returned to his pizza slice.

Laurel laughed at Rick's expression. "Oh my gosh, you guys are all way cooler than people at my school. The only people I miss are my best friends... what about you guys? Except Piper, I mean, since... the homeschooling thing."

Piper looked down, blushing at the fact that she had no friends outside of this school. "It's fine," she said when she saw Laurel's expression.
