"Control it?" He chuckled, clicking his tongue as he gently spurred Knight into a trot. "This sounds hecka cheesy, but what you gotta do is really connect with her. She won't listen to you if she doesn't want to. Start with some calming words, then just gently hit your foot against her side to get her to move. Make sure you have the reins in your hand. To go left, pull with you left. Gently. To go right... well, you get it."

Max sat in the back of the gator, next to River. He didn't pay much attention to the whole conversation, and instead stayed staring out into the fields they drove by.

She did what he said and gently kicked her in the side. Storm listened. Sky was so proud of herself.

"Impressive, Rookie." He congratulated. "But don't go too fast until you're ready, alright? Just follow me, we'll just go a few circles around the paddock."

She pouted and seriously considered pushing Storm into a gallop. She rode Storm out to the paddock.

"You're doing well. Maybe you can let her go a bit faster, just not a full on canter yet. I don't want to have to end up carrying an injured Skyler to the hospital on the first day."

She pushed Storm into a trot and shrugged. "Who knows? It could be fun." She turned Storm in a figure eight.

"Showing off so soon doesn't always end up well." He warned as he led Knight in a circle, one hand clutching the reins.

"Scared that I might show you up?" she asked, smirking. Her smirk was soon wiped off her face as she just about fell out of the saddle. She cleared her throat, pretending that nothing happened

"Never!" He exclaimed, though he gave her a satisfied smirk as she regained her balance ungracefully. "Right, I'll just ignore that ever happening if you admit that I'm the 'smartest, greatest, handsomest rider' in the whole world."
