You could hear Ves talking.
"Professor? Are you okay?" And more coughs from a second person, presumably the professor.
I keep listening intently, hoping to hear something of use. Is the professor ok? I think.

Someone runs past you in the direction you had just come, shoving past you roughly. Some distance away, you could hear Ves ask if the professor is okay.

I stand still and look back to where the thing ran to. Afterward, I look for where Ves and the professor are.

My eyes widen, then narrow. This thief isn't getting away today. I dash after him, knowing the long, dark, and smokey hallway would have to slow him down. I'm sure to reach the elevator before him. I do like endurance and speed running. I have to catch up. I have to catch up.

Torching chirped happily and bumped it's head against your hand. It was ready! You can now explore tall grass areas.
"Awesome!" Iist started to walk in the tall grass to look for Pokemon to battle with.

You hear footsteps from behind you and someone grabs your shoulder. You turn and see it was Ves. "Why did you steal the professor's mega stones?" He demanded, his grip like iron. The professor was coming up behind him.
