"It's not 'cause I'm yellow though." She adds, obviously neither noticing nor caring about Neth's disinterest. "That'd be selfish, and I'm not."

"Well, I like black because it's dark." Nethimir replied, letting the flame-shadow die out.

"It's a pretty color." She agrees. "It's my mom's favorite too." She pauses, then shrugs. "Sorta."

"M'kay." She deadpanned once more, looking over at the tanks of bugs Nila had.

Many of the bugs are plain, but a few are fairly pretty. There's one with wings like fabric, soft and powdery with a fuzzy body. Its wings are a beautifully vibrant mix of deep oranges, yellows, and black. Another is small, squat, and round, with a green body that glimmers like the blade of a weapon. The creatures are strange, but quite pretty. Even the not vibrant ones, like the two odd eight-legged critters and the eel-like creature with what seems like infinite legs under its body.

She simply stared at the bugs, trying to count the legs on the weird eel thing for absolutely no reason. It's a good time waster, too.

It's got at least 100. The legs are very small and short, moving quickly despite its slow speed. It also looks somewhat glossy, as if damp.

"What's that bug?" Even through Nethimir had no interest in Nila's bug collecting, the types of bugs she kept were weirdly cool to watch and know about.

"That? I call it a land eel." She shrugs. "They're really friendly things, but if you touch them you'll get itchy where you touched them 'cause they're poisonous. So don't touch them."

"I didn't know you had poisonous creatures." Nethimir replied, still looking at the 'land eel'.
