Once you have all your belongings in your bag, you set off once more, the path quickly becoming steeper. A little to your right, you see a narrow path that hasn't been used in a while. It's not quite as steep as the way you are currently going, but you can't help wondering why it's unused.
What do you do?
A) Keep going
B) Switch to the other path

I'll choose A, stay in the town. If I'm going to be traveling through harsh terrain, I'm going to need more supplies than this.
(Well, I'm glad you included it; it makes the game more thought-provoking. I'm afraid I only have experience as the player and not the creator.)
