Once Rea had reassured herself that there was nothing coming after her, she returned to the place she'd just fled, taking a decisive breath to calm her frazzled nerves and weighing the possibilities of what she'd just seen.
Best-case scenario, a person/ghost/animal that wasn't going to kill her.
Worst-case scenario, a person/ghost/animal that was going to kill her.
Well, that was pretty simple.
Rea was pretty sure that her stepping on the branch earlier could've practically woken the dead in a place as quiet as this, so it was probably safe to assume whatever it was had noticed her. And she wasn't dead yet, so perhaps she'd be safe for at least a little while if she got closer? It was flawed logic, but there was nothing more she could do. She already knew she was lost, and this was her only lead- not that it was much of a lead.
So knowing full well she was letting her curiosity get the better of her, and hoping she wouldn't regret it, Rea followed blindly in the direction she had last seen the light, at least until she heard the almost ghostly song being hummed and stopped short, reconsidering her decisions.

(Just going to include everyone who hasn't found a partner yet, because Idalia is still semi-open)

Idalia continued to hum as they grabbed a stone and bounced it in their hand. They took a seat, their legs dangling over the edge of the cliff as they smoothed the stone in their hands. The teen's little legs needed a break, they've been walking for what they thought to be two days after all. She stuck the take into the ground next to her, careful not to catch her sleeve on the flame. I really should've made Bruno come with me. The blonde thought, studying the strangely colored rock further. He wouldn't have come anyway, he's a coward. I couldn't have taken my father with me either, they're way too important to the show. She continued to hum as she let her mind wander.
Just to test the echo of their surroundings, Idalia let out a low note, ending her song. She listened for a second, getting a short echo in return. Pleased with herself, she continued, starting another traveling song.

Alastor see's some smoke in the distance and walk towards it. Once he got a closer look he could see a male making a meal. He stayed in the shadows watching and being cautious of the unknown figure.

(Everybody is kinda just wondering around at this point, I think Lovador and Mysteria are in the middle of an interaction, Mine and Bird's character are about to meet, and my other character and Lark's are in the same area- You are welcome to stumble upon Idalia if you'd like.)

(Will do. I'll leave him open. :>)

Velfor kept his head down, the hood of his raven-feathered cloak pulled over his face as he stepped through the woods. He was a long way from home and honestly, he still wasn't certain why he had even come out all this way. There was no telling that they wouldn't find him again. Even out here, they never stayed off his back long. The dark of night would be almost peaceful for him if the thought of returning back to civilization hadn't cemented itself so firmly in his mind. Camping out in the woods didn't suit him. He wanted to return to his books. How much longer would it be?
He stopped as the trees suddenly gave way to a cleared area near a cliffside. A person? Odd. There wasn't supposed to be anyone else out here. He resisted the urge to talk to her, not sure if he could trust any strangers at this point and turned to continue onward, leaves crunching under his boots.

The somewhat distant snap of a twig and the shuffling of leaves rang true, causing Madri to immediately freeze. Would it be better to walk loudly to purposefully scare whatever it was off? Or could the creature be weirdly aggressive, given how strange the forest is anyways? Weighing the odds they decided that the former option, although risky, would at the least have the chance of evading an encounter altogether.

Elaine had always joked that they lacked any self preservation as soon as it required a grain of thinking they weren't used to.

Unsheathing their dagger in case of the worst, Madrigal continued as they had, albeit laying their feet down a bit more aggressively. And jumping off of any root four inches tall. Just because.

Xenos, who was still drinking from the stream, noticed the heavy footsteps. in a panic he jumped to his feet, dropping his canteen next to him in the process. His hand immediately went to his sword as he looked over the brush for the source of the noise- Please don't be wolves- He panicked. Or worse.

It was easy to tell that he was shaking; after years of being alone in the woods and somehow avoiding danger, something stomping towards the already anxiety-driven young man was not at all helpful. He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself so he could try to think logically. Maybe he should speak- when Xenos opened his mouth to ask who was there, the only thing that came out was an awkward croak.

Right where the forest gave way to a steep cliffside, Rea stopped and tilted her head to hear the song better, still staying what she hoped was a safe distance away, hidden by the trees. She squinted along the cliffside, but between her bad eye and the unnatural dimness of the forest, she couldn't make out much but a small pinprick of light that she figured was the same one she'd seen earlier. The song was getting farther away, and Rea wondered if it was safe to continue following it, until it stopped moving, then stopped entirely, the last note echoing off the stone of the cliffs. Right when Rea had figured that was the end of the almost surreal occurrence and was ready to head back into the forest, though, the song began again. Curiosity piqued once more, Rea took a deep breath and hummed one note to harmonize with the other person's song. Hopefully it wasn't some psychopath singing in the forest as they searched for their next victim.
