Hi! It's semi active - I got very distracted (hi ADHD) and never made my official intro posts but people are 100% welcome to share their own info about how neurodivergency/mental illness affects their lives :)
You're absolutely allowed to talk about this on Sylestia! I put what are likely the boundaries in the first post - avoid anything that would be obviously triggering (feel free to PM me if you want specific examples).

ahh, gotcha.
i was diagnosed with CPTSD, major depression, and anxiety. i also am autistic, and was told to seek diagnosis for a possible dissociative disorder by a crisis counsellor, but i haven't gotten around to it.
i'm fine with people PMing me if you want information about stuff i'm familiar with and sources. to be honest the major thing that impacts my daily life from these things is that i had real bad times and struggle to effectively communicate with people, so i often get frustrated and aggressive because i either dont understand what is going on, or i'm frustrated that i'm not being listened to.
not super sure how to get further into detail about things i have experience with without tip-toeing on being inappropriate or triggering, but i dont mind talking about things most of the time. ^^

Hello everyone! Just found this thread and I'm very excited to see it. :D If we haven't met before because I'm less online these days (rip), I'm Zisi.
I have ADHD, dyscalculia, and mild social anxiety. I've had about 14 years since I was diagnosed to slowly work on understand these disabilities and how they affect me, albeit often imperfectly and with more attention paid to one or the other depending on my circumstances. I'm still on that journey and always trying to make more progress in cooperating with my brain.
(A quick note about language & philosophy - I'm very comfortable referring to myself as disabled for various reasons, most of them being contrariness. But! I know that not everyone is comfortable with this language, including a lot of people with ADHD who are pushing back against the social implications of defining a neurotype as a "disability." I'm happy to chat about my own perspective if you want to!)
Dyscalculia is less well known than ADHD and it doesn't look like it's come up here yet, so I'll explain it! Essentially, dyscalculia is to math/numbers as dyslexia is to reading: People with dyscalculia often struggle to master/internalize basic math functions (ex. addition, multiplication), may confuse or misremember numbers, and have a hard time estimating values such as size or distance.
Because inherent "number sense" is necessary for many aspects of day-to-day life, dyscalculia can impact things like time perception, financial responsibility, and spatial reasoning. It was easy for me to see how my dyscalculia affected my math grades in school, but I didn't realize until only a few years ago that it's part of my severe time-blindness and the reason I still walk into doorknobs in the house I grew up in. ^^; But to be fair to me, there's been a lot more research about it since I was first diagnosed. ADHD and dyscalculia can overlap in a number of ways, including that lack of time perception, spatial/object awareness, and managing long processes with multiple steps.
Dyscalculia sources: Dyscalculia.org Understood.org ADDitude Magazine Touch-type Read & Spell (feels weird to point to a company as a source but their page about dyscalculia in adults is VERY good)
Going back to ADHD before this post gets any longer! A resource I found recently and really really love is this YouTube channel How To ADHD. It's helped me pay closer attention to things like making my home ADHD-friendly and motivation cycles. I definitely recommend it.

Good evening fellow mentally funky people.
My name is Snowy. I have a slew of labels that apply to my messy brain, but the important ones for this topic are autism, and sensory problems/sensitivies that come with that.
Does anyone else have serious problems with teeth? The concept, the feeling, taking care of them, dentists, all of that. I hate it all. I despise everything about teeth! I mean really, they're the worst part of the entire human body in my opinion. They're weak, they will decay eventually, they cause way too much pain as they literally rot out of your mouth, it costs insane money to deal with them as they decay (in America at least), I mean the only thing I appreciate about them is that they sure do chew.
For me personally, most of my safe foods are sugary. I love to bake pastries and desserts. I also hate the feeling of brushing my teeth, so I can only tolerate it once a day, and I have to buy special toothbrushes off Amazon with silicone bristles just to minimize the sensory awfulness of it. I don't think I even need to really get into the horribleness of the dentist. Completely mentally typical and healthy people even hate it, it's like a little slice of hell for us neurodivergents.
Anyway, one of my teeth randomly starting hurting to the touch yesterday, and when I noticed it again today, I cried. I know I need to tell my parents (I'm a minor) and get to a dentist but I am t e r r i f i e d. Is anyone else nearly as passionate in their hatred of teeth as me? I'm really curious.
(Completely open to PMs and virtually any topic btw, I'll let you know if I'm ever uncomfortable!)

Im autistic and ADHD and currently worrying about my GCSEs
Most of the time Im fine. I have a supportive family, a friend who is also autistic who goes to a different school and my classmates are generally polite and tolerant of my Neurodivegence even if Im not particularly close to them and spend my breaks and lunches doing homework or reading but on some days my mind goes foggy I think is the best way to describe it and I can barely focus on anything and the thoughts in my brain arent able to be redirected to my work On a normal day its fine as my teachers are on the whole nice and able to help me with what I missed but Im stressing about what might happen if it happens during one of my exams
I like coding ,art and reading (completely love the Percy Jackson series as it was the first time Ive ever read about characters who were a bit like me) and have pretty much resigned myself to spending my working life in an office coding and interacting with as few people as possible instead of following my childhood dream of being a vet (animals are easier than people but I dont want to have to deal with their owners) and I fine going through the top of the lost grove to be a mindless thing I can do when my brain is running too fast
