Eeek, that plot is already being supported by someone else right now. They have an "intelligent animals with superpowers vs humans who hate them" plot. I mean, if we do this as a PRP then it might be okay. I don't want the other person to feel like their idea got ripped off.

But, another thing in my dream was that there was a group of humans who studied the mutant animals and tried to maintain order, so it's also possible that the RP centered around the organization as they dealt with situations of berserk mutants rather than humanity as a whole turning their back on them.
Cause, there're a lot of really harmless mutant species so it'd be weird if they got killed by proxy. And my dream implied that the mutant animals were just normal animals in their world, which would mean if they turned on the mutants and tried to eliminate them, they'd be completely destroying the ecosystem and setting themselves up for a collapse of society and humanity itself dying out.
But, of course, the mutants can be mutants or fantasy species if you want, and we can have normal species in there as well so the plot can be more easily supported. I actually think mixing real animals with the mutants is a better idea than having to create like a bunch of new animal species. So yeah, half and half.
It's a possibility that if we do use berserk mutants as the primary plot, there'd be an investigation as to why these creatures are suddenly flipping their metaphorical lid. That could be the plot, maybe. The organization digging deeper into the reason why their normally balanced relationship with the beasts is getting steadily worse and worse every day.
And maybe instead of them being mutants, they're some special subcategory of animal? Something more magical than the cats and dogs who walk alongside us in our homes.

Yeah, I think that would be fun to RP out.
One of our characters could be a mutant and the other a human, possibly?

Yeah, I guess. A human tamer and their mutant partner.
But the mutants I don't know whether they talk or not. Heavily implied in my dream that they have at least mild sapience, including understanding complex orders and mostly understanding speech, but whether their vocal cords can allow for speech is another thing entirely. Roleplaying them might be a bit inflexible but yeah.
As for what the mutants are called, I thought of two terms. (Them being ranked as a separate breed of animal apart from the normal ones.)
Normal ones have the option of being called: Chimeras, Curiosities, Oddities, or Deviants.
Berserk ones have the option of being called: Teratoids, Nightmares, or Berserkers.
Which one do you like~?

I think Deviants and Bersekers would fit best.

Okay, then I guess we start thinking about where the plot begins and our characters.
I already have something in mind, a proxy of my dream. And do you wanna do this PRP? In messages or in a private forum?

Oh, I have an idea.
What if it starts out with either one of us being a new recruit, or we're already established in the organization and we're called out to an emergency where a berserker is going wild in the city.
.... How do we get rid of the berserkers, I wonder. Do we destroy them? Do we turn them back to normal? So many questions. I vote to destroy them.

Okay, I need to go to sleep so we can pick this discussion up tomorrow.
You can keep thinking.

It'd be much easier for me to keep track of in a forum.

Pst
I know you've been linked a guide already but I figured I'd pass you over this too since I have a few resources here.
The Springhole guide I've linked on there is an amazing crash course in any kind of rping/rpg experience that isn't just related to Sylestia and gives a lot of good general writing advice. I've used it myself and find it still really helpful for a lot of things.
I've been RPing on and off for about 15 years between different formats of rp (chat, forum, etc) and am considered experienced, so if you ever need a question answered (no matter how silly) you can always poke me or the folks over on this thread under the advice pinglist since we'd love to help you out with anything. ^^
