And she probabl complete the mission while you were gone
(Same thing happened to me actually, went from below 60 to level 70 in just a minute and was so confused XD O-O)

Huh... doesn't that mean a newbie could buy a level 69 pet, send it on missions till it reaches 70, then put level 70 pets in their team and obliterate everything
Or is there something obvious I'm missing xD

Yes, Lark, but they'd have to buy a pet that was REALLY close to 70 because Esior missions don't really give you a whole lot of experience and there is a LOT needed to get from 69 to 70.
