(I misread it, too late to change it now, I roll with the mistake and assume they just stood up while she was walking over and now it's just awkward. Also the name of this little space UN is the United Galactic Federation. Usually shortened to the Galactic Federation or just the Federation.)

Katia realized they were already standing by the looks of it and pulled her hand back
awkwardly, rubbing the back of her head.

"Well, I guess it depends, you're not like space pirates or anything right? Cuz we've been getting a lot of those lately, it's crazy."

"S-s-space pirates? L-like p-pirates but in ssspace???" the brownhiared looked terrified.

The other boy facepalmed. "Obvously. And nope."

"We can't really go on the seas anyways..." the girl adds.

"I mean, kinda the same.. just not really any water up here. But they still got ships and everything. Even met one wearing and eyepatch with a pet shark, it's crazy."
She giggled a bit.
"But you guys don't seem like pirates or anything, so I'd say you're in the right place. My name's Katia. And um.. Don't mind Rufo over there."
She gestured at the glowering security dog staring at the group with his arms folded and his tail bristled.
"He's harmless by the way, unless you're a pirate. Just kinda spooked him when you guys all dropped in like that. We're supposed to be doing a lotta engine tune-ups for ships lately so we've been trying to keep people out of the hangar cuz it's hard enough work without a ton of people hangin' around.
So um. What exactly were you guys looking for here?"

The girl speaks up, shutting up the boys effectively. "Our planet's, um...let's just say that about 90% of the population's wiped out and everyone's smashed into one tiny city at the moment."

"That was a wonderful explanation." the earringed boy said.

"Thanks."

"I meant that you have failed it utterly. The planet we live on is almost completely covered by a force that we have not yet been able to eliminate."

"Really?! That sounds awful."
Katia's antennae stood on end with her surprise and she tried to calm herself down.

"Okay, okay, okay.. Well, you're not the first planet to have this problem. What kinda force is it?
Don't tell me you guys got invaded by the Vespa, cuz we've been hearing a lot of those lately. My mum says that one's a real tough one though, so I don't know if there's a lot we can do about them.."

"Its...more like a magical force....its also corrupting everything." The girl said.

"Including people." Earring aboy spat angrily.

"Oh calm down MOONY-"

"Do. Not. Call. Me. Moony."

"Magical? Well.. Not sure I've heard that one before.." She flinched a bit at the arguing, flicking her antennae back.

"So lemme get this straight, it corrupts people? Like how?"

"Erases them. Permanantly. Just leaves their maniupulated bodies. Or partway, which makes them have periods where they're controlled by...someone who we shall not mention because he sets this guy off." The girl pointed at the now-annoyed-looking half-elf boy. "It's...not a pretty sight. Ruins the landscape too and it's unpredictable in the corrupted areas."

"So there's this big bad wizard guy just deleting people on your planet? Honestly, that sounds like it'd be kinda cool if people weren't, ya know, dyin' and stuff."
Katia rubbed the back of her head, trying to think.
"Ok, well, this one is definitely a doozy. You guys might have better luck talking to my mum on this one. She knows a lot more about Aether-type stuff than I do."

She motioned them to follow her as she made her way to a ship at the end of the hangar.
An older blonde, Russian woman in a silver flight suit stood outside the ship, her back propped up against a wing while she looked over data on a floating, holographic screen in front of her.
She had a lit cigarette in her mouth and her stern eyes seemed distant and tired. She only looked up on sight of Katia and sighed audibly.

"What. This is the third time you've bothered me today on something. Your maintenance better be done already."

"Mum, I told you, I got ours done like 3 hours ago. This is something important this time, promise."

The woman looked over the strange teenagers behind Katia with curiosity.
"So what is it then?"

"Magical forces, power-hungry-and-probably-mindcursed old men who just won't die, brainless zombie people, 65-year-old brainiacs that got aged-stopped and half-corrupted, and about three thousand people hiding out in a city and most have never seen the sun." the girl says all in one breath.

The earring boy glares at her. "What did you just call Lishian?"

"A brainiac."

He growls but says nothing.
