The bird didn't let go. "You couldn't have a softer mouth!" it cackled in response, still diving. "Hey Lucifer, you wanna eat her?" It called down to the panther, who growled softly.
"We're supposed to being her back to the lab. You know that." Lucifer answered, watching the quickly approaching bird.

she clawed the claws trying to get him to release her then she had an idea, and played dead

As the bird slowed and landed beside Lucifer, it cackled, tossing the little cat-moth toward him. Lucifer caught her under one of his massive paws, sniffing at her before looking back up at the bird. "Did you squeeze the life right out of it?"

she continued to act dead hoping they would drop her

"I don't think I did." The bird mumbled. "I wasn't holding her that tightly."

she continued to flop listening to the conversation carefully

"Tell the scientists you found one and killed it." Lucifer grunted. "I'll get rid of it."
"Oh, fine." The bird grumbled unhappily. "I'll go tell them it's dead."

she wondered what 'ill get rid of it' meant and feared the worst

As the bird left, Lucifer lifted his paw, huffing slightly. "You can get up, now. He's gone." He grumbled softly. "Leave while you can."

"you could tell im alive? and didn't you kinda try to maybe possibly trap me back in a stupid cage?" she asked confused.
