Malak was flipping through the mini booklet of these little slips of paper used to get rations. "I think it's about time we used some of these," he said. "We haven't had any fruit for awhile. We can't wait for people to pay with that. We'll have to get it ourselves." He looked up at Drake. His godfather finished downing the herbal concoction before looking back at Malak. "I'll go into the city, then. Hand the booklet over," he said.
Malak did so hesitantly. "Are you sure you should be going out?" He asked. He knew the answer already; his godfather always went for a walk after he drank the herbal tea. He sighed softly. "Go ahead. Take it easy."
His godfather smiled softly and waved before walking out of the hut. Malak continued to sit there and wait. Early in the day was always the slowest.

As a moment came to his left he jumped releasing the rope he held. Panicked Darling dashed off, not wishing to be caught by the humans. They would hurt him, possibly even kill him if they could! His master was still human to say the least and would be able to get away. "Hey! Darling come back here!" Gluskin yelled instantly feeling less confident. He was alone...he hated being alone! "Darling please!" The man was panicking now, he didn't know any of the people in the city! How did he even know they were people in there?! Tears stung his eyes and he felt his knees give out on him. Without a light he wasn't able to see to get back, it was Darling that knew the way. What if he never saw home again?!

Rune walked through the streets with his mask in hand and bag in hand. He had his head down, occasionally looking at those whom he passed. He made his way quickly, knowing the longer it took him to return back to his grandmother, the more of her wrath he'd have to face. He eventually reached the small but decently steep hill that led to his and his grandmother's home. He climbed up it with ease and in no time, he reached the home. He enetered and found his grandmother standing before him with her arms crossed.
"I swear child, I'm going to strangle you the next time you come back from being gone so long. I'd rather it be by my own hands than by some Illired tearing you to pieces."
"I-uh... sorry?" Rune replied after being caught off guard by his grandmother.
"Just get cleaned up so you can run some errands for me."

Kota~
Kota had gotten up early that morning, and set out to the city. She packed food for at least a day, she never went out for long, because she couldn't leave her brother alone. She loved her brother dearly, he was the only light in her life, and she never put him at risk whatsoever. She crossed a street, towards where she had last seen some things worth taking. She turned a corner, and saw an old, green covered shop. It appeared to have sold old, used items. She looked around before climbing through the small doorway. She had always been small, and sometimes that was an advantage. She looked around, and saw some items still intact. She saw a few gem stones, and put them in her bag. She smiled to herself. Her brother had always lived studying rocks. She grabbed a few other items that were worthwhile, and she put them in her bag. She then walked off towards the hidden city, exited to show her brother what she had found.
Riv~
Riv was in a rather happy mood as usual, and had a bit of a skip to his walk. He had always been happy and chipper, even though he had hardly anything. He had to go get his eye checked, and some other injuries checked again. He had injured his right eye when he was out in the city, and he was told it would be partially blind for the rest of his life, which was bad news, but he could live with it. He walked into Shaman Foxs place, and gave a happy smile.
" Hiya! I need my eye checked again, like you said last week."

Malak had fixed himself some herbal tea that he was also known for selling. He turned around when he heard the chipper voice of Riv. He remembered what ailed the fellow. Well, not really ailing, but what was wrong with him. He set his tea aside and walked over to him. "Greetings again. Here, let me see," he said. He inspected his face closely.

More movement approached the hut in front of him, two...no three bodies moving in the dark landscape around them. Were they Illireds? Was that the reason Darling had left him? If they were then why did they not hear his cries. Tears stung his eyes as he curled up on the ground, knees drawn up to his chest. "Darling! Damn it why did you leave me!" He clawed at the sides of his head, drew blood in spots. "You come back here! I swear!" Though muffled he said each word in a mixture of fear and anger yelling as he lay curled around himself. How could he! How could he leave him like this?! After all he had done for that thing he just up and left! Though on the other hand maybe the animal like human had a point, yet it that was the case he was as good as dead already. The monsters would come for him then, tearing him limb from limb eating his flesh. The thought made him curl tighter around himself. No, no! That couldn't happen! Shaking some the man whimpered, gripping at his ears. The whimpers turned quickly to muffled cries before becoming full on screams of fear and pain.

Malak was still in the middle of the inspection to make sure the eye was healing okay when horrible screams drifted into the hut. They seemed really close. "Good heavens," he muttered, quickly excusing himself and going outside. He looked around frantically before locating a blob curled up on the ground several feet away. He rushed over. "Why are you screaming?!" He exclaimed in alarm. "Are you hurt?!"

As the footsteps approached he lashed out, kicking as he scrambled to get away. "No! No! No!" He yelled his eyes clapped shut. "No!" He flailed his arms as he attempted to get away though didn't get far. Why weren't his legs working?! Again he drew his knees up, covering his head in his hands. "No..." Where was Darling? Why wasn't he here helping? Again the man felt the darkness creep up around him as he reminded himself he was alone. It was like all those years mother and father locked him away, beating him when he was naughty. Had he been naughty now? "I'll be better! I'll be better! I'm not a bad boy!" Mother would beat him for saying that, though father found it funny. Maybe father wouldn't hurt him this time.
