I like your idea, thinking about looking for a specific theme offspring but considering selecting "theme" and "offspring" together doesn't already work

Yeah, there's two ways I think could improve the search:
Suggestion 1 - from the previous post I mentioned, keyworded advanced search, and I also think having a list of commonly used keywords would be helpful
Suggestion 2 - Splitting Pet Auctions forum into different subforums (ie themed offspring sales, themed sales, etc), localizing and categorizing threads to better pinpoint what people want

I don't think it's hard to manage, if you're talking about the Pet Auctions.
It's mainly making sure to bump a thread enough and making the thread easy to understand, along with having pets up for public sale so it can be seen on advanced search. After that, it's up to pet demand to buy the pets. Can't really force selling pets when no one wants to buy them. x:
What do you think is hard to manage for the current system?

It is very hard to find posts not on the front page. It's hard to relocate and bump a thread. If there was an auction page like there is for events, the forum would automatically ping users when out bid and therefore not need seller to bump.
Right now you need to post in the pet auction thread, you need to actively search for your topic in order to <bump> it. Then you fill your auction thread up with bump spam. You have to keep track of bidders, ping bidders when they are out bid, and then transfer the pet to them once the auction is over.
With this idea, users could simply go to Games tab, then select User Auctions (not currently an option), enter how long the Auction will last for given pet. Then the forum would in essence work like it dose for events. It would ping users, and auto transfer when the pets auction is over. Taking all the legwork out of the above process.

Well, I agree. What you said in the first post is logical. One of the other breeding sites I play is Howrse. Their auctions are a bit more organized than ours ^_^; Basically, they have a horse set up for auctions at a certain price (like any other auctions) and the players who want to buy it will just bid on it. There's not set amount you have to bid (you can bid from 1g to 100000g) but the point is. The system registers how long it will be until the auction ends and will automatically transfer the pet to the new owner. The best part is when you are outbid, the system sends you a notification in a place sort of like the account overview in sylestia currently. So with the highlighted 'account' tab, it's going to be SO MUCH easier for a lot of players. The buyer and the seller.

Oh, I didn't see that I edited your post Starline. But I figured that's what you meant.
I'd love to see this happen in the new Sylestia. ^^ Which would probably take a year or two to get to, but it wouldn't be much different from the automated games that we already have (ie Egg Auction, Pick a Door).
