I do actually kinda have another story, I didn't really consider it to be a danger at the time (I was calm as hell) but looking back it kinda creeps me out...

I went on an epic 3 day kayaking trip with dad, my friend, their dad, their mum and because my kayak was the smallest and least streamlined, I kept getting left behind. During one of these 'being left behind' times I was just calmly plodding along and suddenly this long brown snake pops out of the trees in front of me and starts swimming the river, before it reaches the other side and carries on. Brown snakes are incredibly venomous, we were all out in the middle of nowhere and far from any medical aid and if that thing had been any closer to me, I probably would have died or something.

Later on when I caught up to someone else, I casually mentioned my encounter to my friend's dad and said 'welp, I've already seen one brown snake' and his eyes went huge and he's like "Already?!" So funny.

I have two stories to share and both happened in the same day!

While camping with my family a few years ago we all went to a place called Angel Falls, a 90 foot waterfall. Along the side there was a trail that goes up to the top. We didn't know that the trail, which was already narrow, had been washed out slightly due to fallen trees and lots of rain. While my sister and I were walking along the side of the cliff, part of the trail gave out and both of us started slipping down a 60 foot cliff face towards the spiky rocks at the bottom of the falls. I slid about 10 feet down before I caught my footing and grabbed a tree branch.. somehow, and to this day I don't know how, I managed to grab my sister's arm as she slid past me and I was able to stop her from falling too. Of course we were just happy to be alive at that point but then we heard screams and cheering down below.. my rest of my family (mom, dad, brother, sister's family) and about 2 dozen strangers were watching the whole thing, and I'm sure expecting to see a tragedy. Even though my sister and I were both adults, my mom has banned us from going on that trail anymore.

That evening we were at the campground to play games and hang out around the camp fire. Around 10pm one of the camp rangers came along and told us they'd gotten word that there was a terrible thunderstorm coming our way. Everyone went to my sister's site cause she has a camper, I had gone to use the outhouse. In the meantime, it started pouring rain, as well as lightning and thunder. As I was speed walking to the camper I was overcome with a strange feeling of panic and all the hair on body stood straight up. Lightning stuck the fireplace that was roughly 5 feet away from me. I don't remember what happened in those brief seconds, but my family claims I jumped about 6 feet into the camper.. leaving my shoes sitting neatly in place where I jumped from. The lightning struck so close that I got a flash burn on my exposed skin, kind of like a sunburn. When we got home the next day we found out that two small tornados touched down in the area. We're from Maine so the tornados weren't big or anything, one of then moved someone's lawn furniture, but it was still a scary experience!

when crossing the street in china, aka death traps. I was waiting for the pedestrian crossing and some jerk tripped me! I mean like who would purposefully trip a innocent ( nope), nice (not true either) adolescent . So there i was at the side of the street and ANOTHER jerk thinks he can totally just keep on going in his car because running over someone will totally not kill someone! With my ninja skills i managed to get up and get safely out of the way! ( Really I got up and ran to the hotel as fast as a short person with asthma can)

This is why, as a species, we can't have nice things! Too many jerks in the world.

I was sitting on the very top of a play set, which is some eight feet off the ground. The edge of a trampoline was under my feet.
So when I'm sitting in chairs I have a tendency to lean forward and balance on the edge of the chair. I accidentally did that from the top of the play set. Luckily my hands were still on the bar I was sitting on, and I was left hanging by my arms. If I didn't hold on I could have banged against the trampoline and fell on the ground, definitely not feet first.
Stupid, I know.

I was out sledding, and I was going down a steep hill. I was going full speed, but when I realized I was further down, I tried to stop. I couldn't so I kept on sledding toward a cliff with a running creek with jagged rocks below. I hit a rock in the snow and I went flying, dangerously close to the cliff. The sled fell down into the creek, and I started to slip off the edge. I cried help many times, bout no one came. Finally, a stranger with a bright red hat came and pulled me to safety. My parents came running down, and thanking the man several times. I lost that sled and I never saw it again.
