You'll feel like it's taking forever when you start but believe me, it will get easier as you go! =D
I do sometimes think I do projects more than I can handle. lol
You're welcome! :)

How long a project takes will also depend on what essences you started out with. I have a 6 vis Qit project I started 1/25/15 with 4 enhanced essences and a 4 vis Qit project I stared not too long after that with 4 regular essences and they both finally gave me the needed opposite sex full vis this week.

I use 1 tab per project and usually have 5 males and the rest females. I like having a few more males so I can mix and match traits. I don't know if it helps any, but it makes me feel like I'm increasing the odds (goodness knows I need all the help with my luck). One project then fits on one piece of paper that I can then reference when hatching the eggs. I have a ton of projects, so there's no way I'd keep them straight if I didn't write them all down. If a female is as good as what I currently have, I'll let her mature, breed her once she's an adult and then release her.

So, it's pretty similar to what Luga does. I just use a few more pets. It was really hard for me at first to just keep one tab, but once I got the hang of it it really helped rein the chaos in. :)

So, that's my 2 cents for what it's worth.

Rabbit, have you considered selling the project offspring you don't want to keep? You could get a little more gold that way.

@Faeyla

Oh your wise words are worth much much more than 2 cents XDD
I'm reaaally struggling to keep it to one tab.. how's that even possible?!! O_o
I started with the minimal 3 reg quitari essences :P with which i made 2 boys and 1 girl.
I don't really remember when i started but i might be able to find out via the day i created the first 3 :D I'd be curious to find out how long exactly this has taken me. Months for sure.
You write stuff down? Like all the babies you get? This'd get super super messy if i did that >o<

Thanks for your help!!

@SpaceElf

I wasn't going to, but i do need the money now pretty bad xD So yes, i'm selling project pets that i don't need anymore if they have a vis. They're real nice with any vis too :3 But i'm apprehensive to sell pet without any vis or that have many carries, it took quite a bit of work to get to where i am now :)
But thanks for letting me know ^o^

I only write down the pets I have in my stable. I tried to do the naming that shows what vis and carry they have, but it didn't work for me. So, I pick a letter and all of the pets have names with that letter. For my Qit projects, my six vis Qit project have F names, 5 vis have D names and 4 vis have T names. Then once I have my finally full vis pets I'll choose names that fit them (or sit Un-named because I can't come up with good names). :-). I write down the name and the traits they have. In the margin I write the total traits over vis traits and the parents. It looks something like the following:

4/2 Dawn&Daniel Diva: tipped(DD), raccoon(EE), ds(NJ), wdm(NH)
5/3 Deona&Dean Dena: leop(BB), tipped(ND), raccoon(NE), ds(JJ), wdm(HH)

This way I can quickly see if a new hatchling is better or not as well as which pets would be replaced first.

ahh ok :) I see. The names work for me, i don't think i'll be able to cope with the complication of all that writing XD

oh, thanks for your time! I wish i knew what i was doing clearly too :P But my next project should be easier after this =)

I also have my own way to name my project offsprings.
Let's take this pet for an example.
His name is DB 1556266 666444'123456.
DB is the initial of my project name which is Death Bringer.
1556266 is his ID.
666444 is the last 3 digits ID of his parents. 666 is his mother and 444 is his father's ID.
' is to remind me that this pet has no recessive traits.
123456 = full visible. 1 = G1 vis, a = G1 carry, 2 = G2 vis, b = G2 carry, 3 = G3 vis, c = G3 carry, 4 = M1 vis, d = M1 carry, 5 = M2 vis, e = M2 carry, 6 = M3 vis, f = M3 carry.

Feel free to use it if you like.

Haha, wish i'd heard that earlier, would've saved me a bit of trouble figuring out how to name them XD
I gave them normal names at first, i really didn't like the ugly trait names. But i found it extremely difficult to find the right pairs to breed in the breeding grounds. I then gave up on not using the ugly names, so i included the traits and tried to incorporate the generation. But then i realized that was not enough information as there were several pairs. After lots of trial and error, i've figured out a way to name them.
I put in the last 3 digits of the mother's name, the last 3 digits of the father's name and then the trait slots the pet has and the first letter of the traits name (like 's' for star runes), i would capitalize if it's a vis and lower case if its a carry.

Took a while XD But i got there :P

Oh, did you also put last 3 digits of the parents' name? What a coincidence! XD
I take a look at your stable and find a pet with really long name => 660442G1s G2t M1N M2f M3s. If you use my naming style, you can shorten his name to 660442 ab4ef. :p

I used to just write my project name too but I found it's extremely confusing after a while. When I wanted to breed my project pets in breeding grounds, because I didn't have any other indicator except the project name I ended up choosing a female that has same parents with the male and that happened so many times. By putting the last 3 digits of the parents' name on the pets' name I can prevent that to happen. I think putting project name in your project offspring is a must if you have a lot of breeding projects going on for same species. The pet's ID can help you find your pets if you can't seem to find them via breeding grounds. I know you can see your pets' ID by simply hovering on your pets' name in your stable but I find it easier if I put their ID on their name.

Took me a few days to think this naming style but it's worth it! =D
I've been using this naming style for about 3-4 months and I really like it so far. =)
