Alright. Lets get a list of species (Alphabetical like in the Generator) and all the mutations done. Feel free to add an idea when needed.) Everybody just pick one. This is partially the boring part. We'll work on stats for the species soon.
I would have trouble with the Live Chat idea, even though it would be much better for actual playing, because of work, plus my tabletop gaming. However, if you could live with me sometimes showing up and sometimes not, I'd vote for Live Chat.
Or maybe alternate. On an actual adventure, use Chat; but when the party is journeying from one location to the next, use "reply when you can."
I think what SpaceElf1 suggested would work best. :)
I am obviously really busy but if we scheduled it ahead of time I would be okay with doing a live chat type of ordeal.
I am also not a really experienced D&D player lol. My only experience is in 4th grade (so a reallllllllly long time ago hehe) I would go every weekend to my friend's house and her mom would DM for us lol. But I loved it a lot and have always wanted to try it out again. :)

I would be rather interested... I've already played some 5th gen D&D before and wouldn't mind playing some more, especially with a Sylestia for a companion. Only question would be, could I play my already made character or would I need to re-create him for this? ^^ (He's a level 2 Dragonborn Druid I believe =^.^=)
1. Hmm... Either would work I suppose. Whatever everyone else prefers.
2. Whatever site doesn't require making an account. >.>

Forget about the live versus on a thread. I could always run two games if I wanted. Or have it be a special thing for specific dungeons and such.
D&D basically works as follows: You create a character to play in the magical world of the DM's design. There are a lot of rules about how you create this character and there are a lot of statistics that go along with it. You want to create a character that will be successful. So if you were going to play a fighter you wouldn't give them low strength because fighters are mostly strength based.
Once you've created that character you then explore the world that the DM has created. You roll a d20 (or a twenty sided dice) to determine if you character is successful at whatever they were attempting to do. The randomness makes it more challenging and (usually) fun.
@Talyn: You would need a level 1 character with a standard array. Other then that I have no issues with a dragonborn druid.

Sorry for the double post (What are Sylestia's rules on that anyway?)
I'm heading off to teach, but when I get back I'm going to focus on the following:
1. Finding a Google Docs friendly character sheet (or making my own... *blech*)
2. Working out the sizes and basic stats for most of the Sylesti. Since you guys weren't very familiar with D&D I think I'd better do those to make sure they are accurate. Talyn if you would like and feel comfortable with it you can help. (Argh I'll have to do base speeds as well....)

For sizes you can just look at their height, weight and descriptions on the generator page. Just go to View List of Species and then click on a species and at the bottom click on More Information. :)

Fire, goodness, where to start...
Put briefly, Dungeons and Dragons, (or any tabletop RPG, for that matter) is a tabletop roleplaying game where you create a character who will travel through all sorts of different scenarios to achieve a goal. You could call it story telling with parameters. It includes a battle system to complement the story. The battle system can take a little while to get used to, and damage is calculated using dice. One thing that you should probably know before tackling an RPG is that there will be a lot of paper and records involved, just to keep track of your characters, items, stats, etc.
If you take the time to learn how to play (read the rulebook), it's totally worth it. ^_^

Emgeal,
I may be interested in this idea, and I want to see it develop further. This is quite the undertaking. I mainly play Pathfinder, but D&D is similar, so I could probably pick it up fairly quickly. Good luck with this project; I hope to see it flourish!

I finished adding the traits to the pets in the google document, I also added some ideas for some base stats for the pets. I took a look through the DnD Basic Rulebook PDF you linked and the races had some base stats...so that was the general idea. Obviously we don't have to use those at all...just throw that under brainstorming. :)
I also took a look at Roll20...which looks really awesome! I'd definitely be interested in that.
However, Krin and I are leaving today and we will be gone until Thursday. So that is all that I will be able to contribute until then. I'll try and take a look if I get time at the document and this thread to be updated though while we are gone. :)
