Gingerbread Out-House

this is my first contest so i did my beast hope you like it :3

Whilst making this I started singing

Give me a home amongst to gum trees,
With lots of plum trees.
A sheep or two
And a kangaroo.
A clothesline out the back
Verandah out the front
And an old rocking chair

I think I got it right - not bad for my first house (although I gotta work on my photography)

Not finished yet but it's a work in progress!

Last year I made an apothecary to supply all of the potions needed in Sylestia. This year I decided to try an armoury and forge to supply the weapons.

This only took 3 hours of my life. Very delayed due to hand injury, meant to do this weeks ago. I also didn't use some of the candies in the first pic.

Sylestia Gingerbread Castle!

Welcome to my Sylestia Advent castle!
This project is something I have considered doing for over five years. I believe that 2019 was the first year this was used for a coloring page contest and an Advent calendar. Due to work, life, etc., I haven't had time to make it. But this year, I started early and have been plugging away on it for weeks! I put in 6 weeks of work. If I had one more week, I would have added a lake and a boat carrying the pets!

To start with, I had to plan and build a rough model. Since we only have a side view of the castle, I had to make some artistic judgment on how the castle looks.


After making the model, I used the parts as the pattern pieces. Having the correct size is very important!


Time to make the gingerbread!

This was a first for me, I used isomalt to make windows!


The start of decorating. The lines took me a day to draw.

Done with all the pre-building decorating!


Starting the build, now this was quite a job!


The building is nearly done, and I had a break that was a pain to fix!


Adding details... and boy, were there a lot of details!
