Appearance: Alvin is not handsome by most human's standards. He has an abnormally large nose which, despite its size is almost dwarfed by his huge, kind eyes and large, compassionate smile. His brown hair is thick and bushy all over his body, from his eyebrows to his armpits. Alvin is also very thick boned and well muscled, leading to the unfortunate nickname of the Hunchback of Notre Dame while he was in middle school. Although his skin is not as pale as some of the people he know, he sunburns extremely easily and much more severely than anyone he has ever met. this leads his to almost always ware long pants, long sleeved shirts and gloves as well as a wide brimmed hat to to it off, leaving only his face exposed to the harsh UV rays of the sun. as a result of this, the skin of his nose always seems to be peeling from when he forgets to apply sunscreen. During the day his dark brown eyes are almost always squint, only opening fully at night.
Personality: Alvin, on first impression seems very quiet, kind and perhaps slightly threatening, although that last one quickly dissolves upon closer examination. For the most part, the impressions are true, Alvin tends not to talk too much and is an obsessive pacifist. Those who have not known him for very long are often surprised when someone mentions something that runs counter to conservation or global warming and Alvin launches into an hour long rant with a passion that was previously unseen in him. Alvin is very protective of the things that he holds dear, which at this point in his life is nothing more or less than the whole of life on Earth. He is not quick to anger except when someone threatens nature, at which point a startling rage rushes through him. While it is not obvious at first, Alvin is also very inquisitive, wanting to know everything that he can about the natural world. Thus if he were to see pixies in a Library he would first want to know what type of animal they were, whether they were insects, or something more fantastical. although Alvin secretly wishes magic were real, he does not believe that it is, preferring to stick to the hard rules of science. Although most of Alvin's friends are male, he, for the most part, does not treat or act differently to or around women than he does men. Alvin's Heart's Desire would be for all the damage that humans have doe to be reversed or a t the very least for humans to be stopped from doing more than they already have.
Backstory: One February, Mr. and Mrs. Jetson decide to go for an ill-fated and ill-advised camping trip. This was a decidedly bad idea for, you see, Mrs. Jetson was 8 months pregnant with their firstborn son. everything might have been fine had not the unborn child decided that he did not want to wait the normative 9 months, no, he wanted to be born now. And so it was that on February 13th, 1998 at 11:50 PM Mrs. Marissa Jetson died giving birth to a tiny baby boy. Now this would be a horrible situation for Mr. Jetson if that were all that had happened, but the man's troubles were not over. For on that night Earth and Luxana had connected for the briefest of cosmic moments and a Lux aristocrat and his entourage of Trollish servants had come to see a world that had a night sky. trailing behind was a female troll who was cradling her own small child. She was enraptured by this place where one could be outside and yet still have darkness. It was at this point when she stumbled across the Jetson family's campsite. The troll wished that her child could grow up among these wonderful stars. She saw the human child in front of her. He seemed so small. He would need a mother. This human would surely love a world of eternal light as much as her child would love a world with night. With a sense of certainty in her mind, the troll switched her child with the one before her. For many years, only she and the squirrels would know that the child who would come to be known as Alvin Jetson was born in another world.
Alvin would have a simple and happy child hood, raised as the son of a single human father. When Alvin was 6 his father adopted a baby girl who he named Marissa. Although Alvin's father would never completely recover from the guilt of his wife's death, he would learn to live his life regardless. Alvin joined the Scouts as a cub scout and continued all the way through, eventually earning his eagle scout by helping design a program to educate young people about conservation. Throughout his Scouting experience, Alvin would meet his closest and only true friends. When he graduated from high school Alvin spent a year in College studying biology before quitting and joining the National Park Service. When girls were allowed into scouts, Alvin spent a summer working at Philmont Scout Ranch in order to see his sister as she managed to go with her troop. Alvin now works at various national parks as a ranger, helping visitors explore nature without damaging it. I his free time, Alvin goes spelunking and volunteers with the BSA.

You were explaining to a group of visitors how to observe wild animals without disturbing their habitat or frightening them. Some of the visitors were listening intently while you noticed others staring off or just goofing off. As you watched you saw a flash out of the corner of your eye. It could just be the sun hitting a reflective surface, or a clueless visitor who didn't listen to any of the precautions and did not turn off their flash.

Alvin squinted through the glare of the sun towards the unidentifiable flash, trying to decide if it was something that he needed to deal with at the moment or if he should finish his talk first. He knew that he should have brought his sunglasses, but it was so easy to forget sometimes. Subconsciously, his fingers rubbed across one of the knots on his gnarled walking stick.

The flash came again, this time seeming more urgent than the first. There was something familiar about the light that you couldn't quite place. The light was like that from the sun, but it seemed fake like something you would see in a movie production. Looking back at your group you see that most of them didn't even notice the flash or were too busy goofing around to even acknowledge it.

Aria sighed. "I'm going to say it unsarcastically once so get it through your thick brain. There are three groups of people on this planet, the ones who don't care, the ones who protect or teach magic, and the ones who want to destroy it or keep it all for themselves. Destroying magic isn't just bad because you lose your abilities, this world will die and then so will everything in it."
