Jacie went for beef jerky next, then, making sure to stop by the fruits section to grab an apple.She kept a close eye around her in case things decided to attack her.

(Fiend/friend. So similar in spelling, so different in meaning.)

Yes, definitely fiend. Jacie sucked in a breath, and held her short sword out in front of her and hoped that this was actually just a dream. She didn't know how to use the sword well, but her father had showed her a few basic tricks...not that she thought she would ever use them other than for show.
She looked for possible ways of escape -
- Climbing
- Running past
- Knocking things over
- etc... - trying not to use the sword.
Who knows if the curse would be lifted. And then when the curse was lifted, who would this guy be, and how would it affect his family and etc. That's why Jacie was trying to be careful.

Blocking one direction is the evil dude, the crashed shelves are blocking two others, the only way out is behind you.

Behind me...Jacie ran backwards. Literally. If that end got blocked, she could always climb or use her sword, though she would hate to do either.

You're going a lot slower due to the fact that you're running backwards, and you trip over a box and land on your rear end.
